1. Greetings and salutations, people. Thanks for coming aboard (the boat).  Quick lunchtime blog as I head to Winter Park for the weekend right after work.
2. Because she drives TO a place, and I drive FROM a place, I COULD blog on the way up, but I am kind of anti-social when casting.  VERY focused.  She drives TO places as…she drives very, very fast.  I drive back as I am better at navigating the switchbacks hungover.
3. I succeeded in turning off ALL media last night, only watching NBC, and therefore getting to enjoy the glory that was Phelps destroying the rest of the field. Scary that Lochte didn’t even medal.
4. MUCH cooler when you die your hair AND medal, bro.
5. Can’t believe Phelps turned that performance in on the 100m fly 30 minutes after the 200IM.
6. I wish I would have thought of the idea of wearing a winter coat to the blocks when I swam back in the day. That would have been awesome.  I would have been the man.  Considering we had to wear banana hammocks back in my day, it would have been better for everyone I think.
7. Going through adolescence in those things just helps you become numb to a lot of things.
8. Not sure I would have done it in my summer league though. Too hot.
9. Why is Ryan Seacrest doing reporting for the Olympics? Bothers me.
10. Please take elsewhere that Xfinity commercial where they say “everything is awesome.”
11. Efimova paralleling ANYTHING about her doping experience with Michael Phelps is ridiculous. Pretty sure pot doesn’t help you swim fast, girl.  Phelps had a long, fun night.  You cheated.
12. Tyrod Taylor has two voices in his head today. One is saying “YES-they believe in me and are paying me.”  The other is saying “DAMMIT-I have to stay in Buffalo for six years.”
13. Heading to UVA in a couple weeks, and WAS going initially for the Lockn’ Festival. We might not even go to the festival now.  Single day tickets are $129 per person.  THAT is ridiculous.  THAT is a lot of pressure to have fun in one day.  THAT is not even paying for any bigger name than My Morning Jacket.
14. Yes, MMJ is great, seen them, and seen the other bands in the lineup. Great stuff, but not $129 worth of stuff.
15. I hear that the Broncos practiced well last night with refs and announcers on television. Good job.
16. It is unfortunate that Simone Manuel didn’t have the day to herself, because what she did last night is a first that should have happened a LONG time ago.
17. When did they start wearing two swimming caps in races? I hated even wearing one (and never did until districts).
18. Missy Franklin just looked beaten down even in her best event last night. The darling of the last Olympics needs a refresh.  She is only 21, so we might see her again.
19. Now, we get to Usain BOLT time, people. So pumped.
20. Lindsey has a bachelorette party next weekend. My weekend revolves around poker, Water World, and Golden Tee.  I didn’t do much in my life before meeting her I guess is what I am saying.
21. In backstroke, you can only go a certain distance under the water before you have to come up, and pretty sure I swam with the guy who they made that rule for. Greg Sloan from New Jersey would do literally two actual strokes in his leg of the medley relay.  I was happy when he graduated.  Dude was a speed demon.
22. Please take the Sandusky story off the wire. We don’t care anymore.
23. Please take the Manziel-Cowboys story off the wire. We care about Johnny, but more about him when he is in trouble.
24. We are almost to the weekend, where I go nuts on Instagram for some reason.
25. There are certainties in life and there are things that are not. Shocked that something I thought was a certainty didn’t happen today, and the USA women’s soccer team lost.
26. My ONLY small bit of happiness is I am glad Hope Solo was partly to blame for the loss.
27. Think before you talk, Messi. We pretty much ALL knew you were going back to the national team.
28. com. I hated your site layout before, and I hate your redo.
29. Just when we thought the Cubs had serious weaknesses, they make some trades at the deadline, and now have run off ten in a row.
30. SO glad to see my perennial “THIS is the year they are in the mix” pick Seattle are now seven games over .500.
31. In my financial report today, Bryan still owes me $40.
