And here we go…playoffs Round 1. #nba #nbaplayoffs

Short and sweet.  Predictions for the first round.

WARRIORS-TRAILBLAZERS:

You could try and make a case for Portland.  You could try.  But then, that attempt would be weighted a LOT on the health of Nurkic.  He is not 100%.  I like Lillard’s attitude.  But, no way this is going to happen.  I could see the Blazers stealing one game, but not more than that.  Warriors in 5.

CLIPPERS-JAZZ:

This one goes the distance.  The Clippers will find ways to underachieve and the Jazz will show they are a year away from being very dangerous to EVERYONE.  The Clips have a little too much talent though.  Mature talent.  I see the Clips taking this in 7.  John Stockton has an almost incredible year with almost Gonzaga and almost Jazz.

ROCKETS-THUNDER:

I smell something here.  Sure, it is cheese plus to have the A and B MVP contenders pulling each other first round.  But, it sure will be entertaining.  I believe in Russell though.  I believe he might exhaust himself during this series and not have much for the next one (except for the NBA spaces out games ridiculously), but he finds a way to win this one in 7 games.  He might not get Durant, but he will take out ONE team before bowing out.  Thunder in 7.

SPURS-GRIZZLIES:

You worry about the Spurs not having enough offensive weapons.  You have worried about it during 61 wins when they lost arguably the best PF of all time.  Leonard is now the leader of this team, the old guys have another year in the tank left, and Aldridge steps up.  The Griz will lose this one and dismantle this project and start over.  Spurs in 5.

CELTICS-BULLS:

I WANT to pick the Bulls in an upset.  But, then I get to my sticking point.  Rondo.  Not buying he is a leader of a winning team.  The one he got was with three other HOF’ers.  Will it be tighter than we expect?  Yes.  The Celtics are balanced but will not overwhelm anyone.  Wade will be a Jimmy Butler Whisperer and get them two games with some tricks.  I will say Celtics in 6, but not surprised if this goes 7.

WIZARDS-HAWKS:

Ah, the Hawks are back to the mediocre selves they are.  Low playoff seed, no home advantage.  Good luck.  The Wiz?  On paper, they are dangerous.  I think we all thought they would win a few more games this year.  But, I like the Wiz in 5.  Too much talent and the Hawks are too much…the Hawks.  The Wiz show us in those five games Bradley and John can be downright scary.

RAPTORS-BUCKS:

Feisty.  Greek Freak finally inches his way into household language.  UVA’s Brogdon.  Yes.  Let’s do it.  The Thunder were my West upset.  I like the Bucks in the East.  The Raptors will think about breaking this down if I am right.  Bucks in 6, as they will do it at their house.  Drake writes a new album with sad songs on it.

CAVS-PACERS:

The Cavs have started their uprising as A) the playoffs get closer and LeBron gets pissed and goes off social media and B) Kevin Love returned and has been ok.  Enjoy one of Paul George’s last rides before being paid ridiculously or traded.  You get worried about what happens if the Cavs are off from downtown, but this isn’t a Pacers team that can capitalize on any bad games.  Cavs in 5.  LeBron wants to get his team rest and move on.

Will I blog again?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
