Back to the Future.
HOOK:
“Bautista.”
We don’t know WHAT number he gave to the team, but apparently he is not negotiating that number at all. Sure, Jose has home run stats galore, but the team hasn’t won anything, and he is 36 years old. I get making your final round of money before time runs out on you. But I would say conversations and negotiating must occur for happiness on both sides.
LINE:
“Cubs.”
The Cubs opened as the expected odds leader for this year’s World Series. They have the most talent, so that makes sense. Things that surprised me were the DBacks not being a little higher than 30-1. I also would have the 18-1 Royals higher up on the list. Things that did not surprise me? The Phillies and Braves being a stellar 500-1.
SINKER:
“1985.”
That year had a lot of fun things going on, but during those fun times was the last time Tennessee women’s basketball was out of the top 25. That streak was halted this week as they are not presently ranked. To put this in perspective, UCONN basketball is a machine, but still would need to go another seven years to break the Tennessee record. Shame we don’t have a DeLorean to go find out if they do it.
THE RIVER:
“Schedule.”
UVA is undefeated against ranked teams this year. This is a tough week for them though. I am releasing this blog during their road game at Miami, and then they get UNC over the weekend. Something has to give and they are easily still fighting for that coveted #1 seed line. This would be a good week to show they deserve it, which I think they do.
That’s it for today. Will I blog tomorrow? That is a CLOWN question, bro. Peace.
