Well, I would be rude not to mention the AMAZING thing the women’s soccer team did first.  Four goals in ANY soccer match is a blowout, but four in 15 minutes?  That is beyond ridiculous.  Congrats, and even though are men aren’t the best in the world, nice to have one of our teams the best at the world’s sport.  Carli Lloyd went from being a well known women’s soccer player to a household name in that 15 minutes.  I get the popularity difference and amount of teams, but scary that the German men’s team took home $35 million for winning their tourney, and the women from the States will collect about $2 million.

LINE:

-The Lakers didn’t envision a month ago that this offseason would yield Roy Hibbert and Lou Williams.

-Well, Reggie Jackson, you are now PAID like a starting guard in the NBA.

-David West signing with the Spurs for the league minimum when NOT really being an overpaid one before is a TRUE example of a guy who wants to just win.

-Amazing that Brendan Haywood is a primary reason the Joe Johnson trade to the Cavs might work, but they might have to part with a player they really like too to make this work.

SINKER:

“Rough.”

…as in a rough day for the ex-start athletic couple that was Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki.  We barely heard about Rory’s injury that might keep him out of the British Open when Wozniacki was sent home at Wimbledon.  No drunk text messaging, you two.
