It came out this week that suddenly the interest in Phillies closer Jonathan Papelbon has simmered after initial rumored interest from the Blue Jays, Cubs, and Dodgers.  I am aware someone will pick him up.  I am aware of his 1.63 ERA.  I am aware someone will probably get past his asinine personality and need a closer.  But, I will enjoy today the fact that teams are shying away.  The Phillies paid Ryan Howard WAY too much money years ago.  In my perfect world, they would cut their losses and just cut him out of spite for some of his actions and comments.

Mark Cuban called DeAndre Jordan going back to the Clippers “makeup sex.”  It was a good feeling while happening, but then the reality of problems will set in.  Listen, that is funny.  But, stay off the mic, Mark.  We are already on your side and HAVE been.  Don’t talk too much-you will sound bitter.

The U.S. Men’s soccer team lost to Jamaica at HOME in the Gold Cup semi’s.  This is not the end of the world.  By winning the last one, they still get to play the winner of this one for the real marbles.  That being said, it is not a good sign either.  Jamaica went up 2-0 less than 40 minutes into the match.  You aren’t moving up in rankings playing like that, guys.  And I want you to be good SOOOOO bad.

MISCELLANEOUS (speed round):

• The NBA is leaning towards a playoff format where division winners can NOT make the playoffs if their record is out of the top 8, which is good, probably won’t come into play except for 1 out of 8-10 years, but is needed as a failsafe.
• My friend, Nick, spontaneously went to the Rangers-Rockies game last night, and ended up seeing a cycle hit…pretty freaking cool.
• Kendrick Perkins, if he has an ounce of talent left, could be a great addition for the Pelicans and a great anger resource for Mr. Davis.
• Peyton decided he wasn’t nice enough, so he is helping Chattanooga families…dude is such a good guy.
• If you find grammatical errors, I am tired of this laptop and might not edit this last part.
• The Chiefs should probably waive Justin Cox, and have.
• I did not open the Romo-suing NFL-fantasy football article.
• Did the NBA players vote James Harden their MVP because he has stats AND he has to play with Dwight Howard every day?
• Amazing the Titans and Mariota took so long on a contract because coach thinks a QB needs to be a 6’5” pocket passer.
• I hope past his prime Richard Jefferson gets more PT than past his prime Matrix last year in the playoffs.
