Catch of the Day.
Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.
In no particular order of chronology or importance…
On the clock as I am traveling out East and it is later. Not an airplane rant (even though I had an exit row), I thought I wrote a lot this weekend. Evening rant watching about to crash. Super-speed version. Let’s turn and burn.

- Greetings and salutation, people. Thanks for coming aboard (the boat). Quick one but full one sided list. One sentence hooks, so if you are first timer, know I am deeper. But for tonight, here we go.
- Actually, I am not very much deeper. I get that.
- JJ, limited pops. Work trip.
- Final thoughts on PGA-Jason Day deserved it, and I can’t imagine having the maturity level as Jordan Spieth when I was 22…or about to turn 22 I believe.
- I was being an unproductive fraternity guy when I was 22.
- Yup, I got choked up when Jason Day’s kid stormed the green, jumped on him, and asked to go home.
- The live video of Spieth doing a thumbs up on Jason Day’s putt to pretty much seal it was fantastic.
- I have never enjoyed a Major where it was more of a processional and not stressed/ close EVER.
- My best man, Scott, wrote me “quite a reach” when talking about Jason Day, while I think he has forgotten how LONG I have been pimping that dude.
- In case you care, Bubba AND us found out that ants are not a “burrowing creature” and he can’t replace his ball even though they live underground.
- Kenseth won some race in Michigan, and I was bored enough on the plane today to read and learn EVERYTHING there is to know about high drag races.
- Chris Sale was off the Cy Young radar, and then just casually threw a 15k game.
- Way to beat Djokovic in a NON Grand Slam, Andy.
- Kind of like throwing paint on a wall and thinking it is art…
- I have no clue where that cliché or maybe cliché came from.
- I think that John Wall should shy away from mic’s and just BALL.
- Should my bachelor party Hoop It Up team be called Aftermath, Compton, Deez Nuts, or Chronic?
- Lindsey, stop turning on Ghostbusters and giving me the remote and just expect me to go right to bed. Took up ANOTHER 90 minutes of my time Sunday night.
- Pretty sure Winston is MORE numb to it, but glad both Mariota and Winston had typical rookie “glorified practices.”
- The Doubletree I am staying in doesn’t have a FAN ALWAYS setting and it is driving me crazy-looks like I need to break open the white noise app on my phone.
- Congrats, David Denson, and if you don’t know who that it, then enjoy living in the vacuum you are presently in.
- Lunchables are the KEY to hotel rooms without a fridge, especially for someone like me who only pauses to eat when I sleep.
- And don’t waste my time with burgers, cookies, or pizza in those.
- But, I am out East, so mandatory DUNKIN DONUTS in the morning…just tastes better out here.
- Have to say I DIDN’T expect it, but if I am a Chargers fan, I love Phillip Rivers more than ever right now…maybe more than Dan Fouts.
- OK…that is pushing it.
- And HE is happy with $65 mil in guaranteed, and good because I think he has a lot of kids.
- And they are probably all moving.
- I am in the group a month ago to pick the Nationals to win it all, and now they are 6-13 in their last 19 and 4.5 back from the Mets.
- I am not a fan of Ohio State, but my curiosity is seriously OVERWHELMED on who is going to win this QB competition.
- I would have talked about this with Ralph today at Qdoba, but I know he has his own opinions.
- I will wait for another day to comment and predict the MLB playoffs.
- TOLD you Straight Outta Compton would be the #1 movie this week, and it surpassed “musical biopic” records just so you know.
- I forgot about the Northwestern “unionize” issue up until today, and sorry, smart kids.
- If you have a beer with RGIII, just to give you a heads up…he still thinks he is the best in the league.
- That is adorable.
- Pittsburgh notes, although getting here on East Coast time and having the amount of work to do makes my typical walking tour VERY tough.
- THIS is a real sports town.
- This town is better with the Pirates good again.
- My phone thinks I am in the time zone just east of the East Coast…not sure how to fix it.
- Redbeards was a cool place…smaller than I thought it would be.
- Yes, I had an Iron City Beer again.
- Yes, because I have a frayed Steelers hat on, I was asked how to get MANY places as I appeared to be a local.
- Yes, I am excited about getting a Philly on South Street tomorrow-people love Gino’s and Pat’s…I like Jim’s.
- No, I had no time to walk the bridge to the southern park/ bar part.
- Yes, I hate suites and this Doubletree, as I like ONE room when I do work travel.
- No, I didn’t find in my walk ANY adjective animal bars, which is my tradition.
- Yes, I think I walked about 5 minutes in VERY shady terrain…and am fine.
- No, I didn’t get a hat, as I kind of realized how much I love the one I presently have on my head.
- Yes, I asked the concierge for a low key food/ bar and found one that wasn’t on their list.
- Yes, I had no idea how beautiful this city has become, with the architecture and bridges. Tough, yet beautiful.
- Yes, it was painful to write that Larry Bird hook yesterday, and I still have the all time lists. Sounds easier to post on a 4 hour flight back home then a rushed night blog.
- That’s it. Hope you are either enjoyed or are more informed. Will I blog tomorrow? That is a CLOWN question, bro.
- No blog tomorrow. Just a tagline. Working, driving 5 hours, prepping more for work, and then will have an airplane rant for you late Wednesday. Peace (again).
