Catch of the Day.
HOOK:
“Pedestrian.”
The Buckeyes have announced they will start J.T. Barrett this weekend against Rutgers. If I am a Buckeye fan, I am looking for consistency, a groove, and less stress. I am also glad I have somehow made it this far without a loss to a lesser team. Two stats jumped out at me on ESPN in the comparison between Jones and Barrett, and they were red zone completion percentage and INT’s. Night and day between Jones and Barrett (83.3% for Barrett). And, seven INT’s. Jones can be pedestrian in a lot of ways and still win. Throwing 7 INT’s with the talent he has around him is way too much, even in a couple games last year and the ones this year. This is a good time for a switch I think.
And Pittsburgh, just GO with Landry Jones, no matter what Vick’s health status is. Ok?
LINE:
“Misfits.”
Someone is going to win this division, and someone is going to not, but they are surely making it confusing, aren’t they? I had the Eagles last night, but I thought it would be a game to say the least. Every time I think I have one of the below teams figured out, they surprise me, whether good or bad.
Between that division and the AFC South, we have eight teams with no real interest it seems at being mildly consistent.
SINKER:
“Cubs.”
Well, the line is being drawn in the sand tonight on the amount of magic the Cubs have left on their young squad. deGrom vs. Hendricks, and being down 2-1 is savable, whereas 3-0 obviously is not so much. I think the Cubs win tonight, and I think they find a way to get desperate and not start Hammel in Game 4 and take that one to. The Mets have ridiculous pitching depth that is tough to match, and it just is whether the Cubs can scrape one together tonight.
That’s it for today. Peace.
