Catch of the Day.
Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.
In no particular order of chronology or importance…
On the clock. Not an airplane cast. Afternoon rant. Semi-speed version. Let’s turn and burn.

- Greetings and salutations, people. Thanks for coming aboard (the boat). Let’s move this thing along semi-speed method (quick, but not necessarily restricted to one sentence per hook). Let’s go.
- JJ. No pops. Bedlam is tonight, so saving it up, but clearing the mass stuff before tomorrow.
- I figure I might as well do the blog, as Clemson looks to be averting its scare, and Michigan is making Ohio State look like the powerhouse they can look like at times. It is so bad that I am watching a closer game between my Cavs and Hokies (no, lately I have not felt the need to watch this annual game-Cavs are that bad).
- It was fun watching two offensive juggernauts last night in the Baylor-TCU game totally get nullified by the weather and host a punt competition. Congrats to everyone who took the under in that one.
- Did you see Art Briles TRYING to find Patterson and getting almost run over by TCU fans? Dude was trying HARD under the circumstances.
- Nebraska gave Iowa a mild run, but RUN is what they probably should have done if they were already going to make a bad decision and not kick the field goal down a touchdown and field goal late in the game. Idiotic. Some of their bad luck is luck, and some is on them. Down 11 in the red zone, and you throw a dep pass on 4th and 1???
- Luckily, Ohio State AND Michigan State can both beat Iowa I think. Listen, Iowa is solid top to bottom, but just not buying into the fact they can hang with some of the big boys for 60 minutes.
- I understand that he wrote a new one, but not exactly rushing to my internet page to load Sandler’s new Hanukkah song.
- Tom Brady’s kids might be scared of leaf piles for a few years.
- I still am not grasping the concept of waking up or sleeping over the night before to save a few bucks on Black Friday.
- I might have had big plans for the long weekend, but then this miserable cold front and snow rolled in, and it is literally sucking the energy from me. My couch has been fantastic this weekend.
- Fun in the foothills at Lindsey’s parents’ place, but not down in the city all weekend.
- Assuming my ski friends are doing ski things.
- Yes, I made the whole lineup for my birthday. Refinery is the best kept secret for a bar in Denver, Hayters was Hayters, my guy, Mike, wasn’t working at the Gigglin’ Grizzly, I have lost my old school Frogger schools at 1up, Williams is always cheap and well overpoured, and Sancho’s was…Sancho’s.
- Lindsey got the next replacement for my long line of very few baseball hats worn. Pretty sure I am in the 5% of people outside Pittsburgh’s city limits with the old school logo on their hat.
- Whenever I watch Whose Line Is It Anyway, I think I think I still like the old school British version.
- The Brett Favre was well done, Bart Starr coming out was epic, and about time they did that whole presentation.
- This is the latest Golden Doodle Lindsey and I are fighting off from owning before we get a yard. Zo Zo.
- Of course, our demon cat, Jackson/ TyRion makes it kind of tough by swatting noses of anything animal that comes in our condo.
- Top Golf was awesome on my birthday. It IS what people say and all that and a bag of chips. Highly recommend it, leave wait time in your plans, but you can drink and eat while waiting.
- Even people who don’t like or understand golf have fun.
- Anyone hear of the person and circumstances of the $1 million giveaway by Old Navy? I haven’t. Bet there was a throwdown.
- Just when you think it is not tough to pull an Elway Exit, you look at guys like Kobe Bryant, who is shooting 31.1% from the field this year and 19.5% from three. That is HORRIBLE.
- The Elway exit was epic.
- Just when people were starting to buy into the concept that Miami and A&M were basketball contenders this year, they both drop not proud games.
- I watched some of the Navy-Houston football game yesterday. Shame that game might keep Keenan Reynolds from at least GOING to New York for the Heisman announcement. Heck of a run this year, and anytime you are breaking Roger Staubach records, you are doing well.
- I think Houston could scare some of the big boys for a couple quarters.
- I actually lost my blog list on my birthday. As you can see, I don’t really have huge problems in recreating my thoughts. But it still hurts when I do lose it.
- I recognize the quality of her work, but I have to say I am all Adele’d out for a while. Can I go hide from the radio for a few years?
- When I am done blogging today, I probably should do something constructive before Bedlam. I don’t see a lot of time after 11am tomorrow to do ANYTHING with the early games, the Steelers-Seahawks the mid game, and the Pats-Broncos the late game.
- With the calendar creeping towards 2016, I probably should figure out my bachelor party plans. If we are doing March Madness in Vegas, probably should reserve those rooms pretty soon. Not an event to be last minute on…
- And when I think about next year, pretty pumped to get scuba certified so I can swim with some sharks in Belize.
- CU basketball player Tory Miller “BIT” a USAF player last week during a game. Not only is that a loser move in general, but you have to bite someone going to one of the classiest schools out there while you are at it?
- Lindsey’s parents got me a painting of the Queen of Hearts for my birthday. Pretty amazing gift, and it should go well with the card I carry in my wallet and my intended upon shoulder tattoo to remind me of my Grandpa.
- I hear both sides, I am on record of saying a change of scenery wouldn’t hurt either side of the Les Miles-LSU debate, but two things remain clear in my mind. One, what does LSU tell the #1 2016 recruiting class in the land they presently have, and how could they handle this any worse?
- On Thanksgiving, while waiting for the second football game to come on. When did they just do things stationary and not in a parade and did they purposely get the worst lip syncing personnel on purpose?
- I find it hard to believe that the new Point Break movie will be good. That was the only role that was ever PERFECT for Keanu Reeves and doubt they could find another “actor” like him.
- There is simply too much football on this weekend for me to make it to the movie theater to see Creed. NEXT weekend for sure.
- Looks like UVA will drop this game against VA Tech, so I guess I just have to be happy for Beamer winning his last of these games before riding off into the sunset.
- I believe that is 12 straight years, but not sure. VA Tech might have to find another team to play who beats them here and there more than every 13 years.
- I will let professional writers talk about the CO Springs debacle, but thoughts and prayers, folks…
- Seeing things like the collapse of Wichita State’s Anton Grady are just scary.
- There is a likely possibility that I will be overhauling this numbered format for 2016. I am open to ideas, but along with having it not as list like, I need it easy to present daily while being as busy as I am typically.
- Gonzaga won a blowout and then close game against UCONN the other day. Know Gonzaga is very, very good, but I will continue to monitor the progress of the backcourt. They have pretty much the best frontcourt in the land, but will need the guards to get better to make a deep run in March.
- In the Yasiel Puig pool of next “incident,” who had November? You win.
- I am in the process of rebuilding the Rant Squad, as my people all retired or got too old. Manziel is the captain of course, and let Puig, Greg Hardy, and Joe Reyes be board members.
- Another day in our life, and another day of the Sixers being winless and the Warriors being unbeaten. The Warriors are scary as I talk about them all the time. The Sixers? I will say this. With the Astros years and years ago, you at least saw their plan in their analytics and moves. With the Sixers, I can’t figure out anything of what they foresee the team being 5 years from now.
- With Mr. Okafor, we are still sorting out what the story is. Sixers suck? Girls numbers? It doesn’t matter. Trolling around bars at 2am on a pitifully bad NBA team is not the way to go. The Dukie obviously likes to party, since we know the rumors on the other gun incident that WASN’T officially reported, but happened at a bar/ club.
- One other thing about the Warriors. They share the ball ridiculously. As of last week, 1 of Klay Thompson’s 33 three’s was unassisted.
- And some don’t need a pass. Curry had some sick pullups last night.
- Shame about Tony Romo’s injury. He just can’t catch a break staying healthy. The Cowboys though should get this and should have had more QB’s on the ready.
- What a weird career Tony Romo is having. Not exactly a winner, not exactly a loser, but always on that second tier of quality QB’s in the league during his career.
- Dez Bryant really needs to take a step back in my opinion. We KNOW the talent is there, but try to be classy for just a couple days straight, will you? Carolina’s CB’s were saying he was disrespectful even before the game.
- Having full control is great I assume. But, when your team is bipolar and getting SMOKED these days, you can’t exactly blame the personnel, right, Chip Kelly?
- Wow, if there are a couple under the radar teams I am NOT wanting to play anytime soon, it is the Lions, and then also the Chiefs and Bucs.
- Lucky me got to play Stafford and Calvin Johnson in fantasy this week.
- I have decided that Carolina is a pretty good football team.
- I have decided that I can’t for the life of me figure out the Packers.
- I have decided that when I pick the Bears, they lose, and win I don’t pick them, they win.
- Lindsey got me some pretty dop…errr cool UVA basketball shorts for the great season they will have.
- Guy Lewis was a heck of a guy and coach, and I will always remember those Houston teams from the early 80’s. Probably best team to not win it all.
- Jadakiss posted his all time top 5 on ESPN the other day. He went with Dr. J at the 3 and assume we might need to revisit the Bird vs. Dr. J video games of old to truly decide.
- And then we can stick LeBron into any position where there is gray area?
- KU just got their big guy cleared to play, and I wouldn’t sleep on them this year, as his addition could be the difference between a Sweet 16 and a Final Four berth.
- That’s all for today. I have Bama-Auburn, USC-UCLA, and Penn State-Mich State to go watch. Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed. Will I blog tomorrow? That is a CLOWN question, bro.
