THE MOVE

So, to this day, I have never had a team I follow religiously move cities, so I am lucky.  I am also confused as to what happens when that happens.  The reason I am writing this is not because I heard the Steelers are moving cities.  Pretty sure that will never happen.  What did trigger this line of thinking is when I heard about the Raiders and a push by San Antonio to get the team to their hood.  Do you follow a team to the new city?  Is there a timeline that goes by when you lose interest in the other city and team?  Do you just wait for a replacement team and then love THEM?  Are there variables such as the Cleveland-Baltimore move where the nickname didn’t switch and the Baltimore-Indy move where the nickname DID change that factor into the fan’s head when making the choice?  I am confused.  Anyway, IF some fans DID follow the Raiders to San Antonio, that might be the largest culture shock in the sports world in decades.  The image of Darth Raider peering in the Alamo and then going to the Riverwalk sounds horrifying to say the least.  That is all for today.  No time to go long.
