My always random thoughts on the game:

-Yup.  I was wrong.  I once again fell for the deception over pro style trick in picking a college football game with finality.  Oregon is like the mid 2000’s Phoenix Suns teams.  The playoffs changed everything.

-There is a reason why they run a pro style in the NFL and on most college teams.  It works.

-When a deception-run offense DOES get behind, it is not pretty as it is NOT designed for 3rd and 8’s and 3rd and 9’s.

-I think the game would have been closer had the Ducks worn there usual outrageous, crazy colored uniforms.  Grey sucked.  They didn’t even go for two on their initial TD drive.

-Imagine how bad the game would have been had there not been OSU 4 turnovers before midway through the third quarter.

-Maybe it was merely physical, maybe it was mental, and maybe it was skills and preparation, but Ohio State made Oregon look like they need some tackling drills.

-Can’t Ohio State just play TCU next week?  For fun?

-I already had respect for Urban Meyer, but I have MUCH more now.  He led a young team with a third string QB to a title.  Meyer has three titles and I think he just turned 50 or thereabouts.  Ohio State is a bunch of youngsters too.  They will be good AGAIN next year after losing minimal players.

-“Hello, Cardale.”  Thanks for going winning the Big Ten for us in one game, vs. Bama in your second game, and the national championship in your third game, but everyone is coming back so you are still third string.”  Dude will be a hell of a trivia question answer 100 years from now if that holds true.

-ELEVEN runs where no one touched Elliott for at least five yards.

-Those false starts from Oregon added insult to injury at the time.  Sloppy.

-Just to sum up.  It was a beat down of a pretty damn good football team.  I expected Oregon to win but wanted a good game, and the last thing I thought I would get would be a blowout the other way.  Impressive.

LINE:

“Odd.”

8, 5, 9-1, 4

This is the odd grouping of the Hawks, Hornets, Pistons, and Nuggets, matched up to their present winning streak.  I didn’t think that the Wolves 15 game LOSING streak was that odd anyway.

LINE #2:

Well, Broncos fans.  Vegas is already on it.  In case you wanted the list of possible coaches from a Vegas point of view, here you go.

SINKER:

The sinker is any topic having to do with Darren Sharper these days.  I am having trouble keeping up with the cities he is wanted for rape in.
