Catch of the Day.
HOOK:
“Tomorrow.”
Tomorrow morning, the Bulls know what their situation is for the rest of the season. The surgeon has said he is hopeful that he will open Rose’s knee up tomorrow and simply do a partial removal of meniscus. As an athlete, I hope he comes back this season. As an NBA fan, I hope he comes back this season. And as a normal person, I hope he comes back this season. Fingers crossed for not another lost season to one of the most special PG’s we have seen in a long time.
P.S. Whether he makes it back or not, I guess the competition between him and Russell Westbrook for most athletic PG is pretty much done most likely after yet another surgery.
-I will wait another day to talk about Rousey-Zingano, but I figure this: Everyone knows I am a huge Rousey fan and been one for a long time. But, Zingano lives in Denver, so part of me wants to root for the Denver chick. Win-win I guess at this point. I will say this. We have seen great stories before, and the thing is still done in less than a round with an arm bar by Rousey, so let’s not get crazy yet. But, Zingano’s story is pretty moving.
LINE:
“Back.”
Betting is back in Nevada on Olympic events for the first time since 2001, and although betting on U.S. basketball will just be another basketball game in a way, betting on every little random event sounds kind of fun on the surface. ” I will bet $20 on the guy from Bulgaria in the shotput.” I am not even sure if those events will be included, but whatever.
-Rory shot a 3 over in his return to U.S. golf, and somehow nestled that score in between statements about the U.S. looking “desperate” in trying to beat them at the Ryder Cup. I think he might be right actually. Not sure how many committees we now have for the selection process, but it is too much.
SINKER:
“Sad.”
Geez. I thought Chris Jones was a senior PG with an attitude problem who got let go by a classy coach. Come to find out he allegedly raped one chick and sodomized a DIFFERENT one in the same night? That is a horrible end to not just a basketball player’s life, but anyone’s young life. Sad stuff.
-Bostick getting death threats from a classy Packer fan base actually surprises me a little. I guess when you combine the masses even originating in a small, classy town, you still get some losers. Sad stuff.
-Finally, I didn’t mean to give him the kiss of death, but it said yesterday that I had a feeling that Hamilton’s meeting with MLB dealt with either chicks, drugs, or alcohol. Unfortunately, I was right. Sad stuff.
