Catch of the Day.
HOOK:
“Six.”
Brian Shaw got the hook today, and no matter whether you support the players, Shaw, or staffers, it probably is the best solution. Whether you think that his inconsistent substitution patterns were because of inexperience, or simply searching for the right combination of players on a group of players no one knew what level they were giving, it probably is the best solution. Whether you think that he was a coach who couldn’t control the group, or whether they were a group that was not made to handle, it probably is the best solution. Whether you think the huddle “six” was because they have six more weeks left in the season, or whether you think they were wanting to END the six week home loss span, it probably is the best solution. Now, it gets interesting. You have a questionable group of players, with no superstar but definitive sub tier talent who need a coach. After the Kings oddly hired George Karl in Sacramento, no hire would surprise me at this point. Get a local, up and coming hero, Denver. You don’t need the monstrous name with your group of stars (but, I think we said the same thing about Brian Shaw).
-By the way, that Phil Jackson coaching tree is not exactly excelling, is it?
LINE:
“Finale.”
Well, if UK is going to lose in the regular season, it is tonight, because oddly it is NOT going to happen IN UK against a reloading (that is speaking optimistically) UF rival. UGA has won three straight, and I will tune in to see if they can give them a run. Listen, UGA lost to them without their best scorer at UK by 11 (that is not a bad loss in comparison overall). Tonight they get them at their own crib. Hey, I didn’t say it is going to happen. I just am giving you a reason to watch the damn game.
SINKER:
“Seven.”
Seven players were ejected when coming onto the floor in OT of the Baylor-Texas game. I know you have teams like Texas fighting for their tourney life right now, but can we try to go into the tourney on a HIGH NOTE? We are approaching conference tourneys and this is when it gets fun. Take the high road, kids.
MISCELLANEOUS:
-I love how I read on ESPN that DeMarco Murray is leaning towards the Cowboys if the money is near, and then I read on SI that he is leaning on leaving.
-They play a little bipolar and aren’t exactly a defensive juggernaut, but kind of scary when Iowa State basketball can come back on you at any time without any warning.
-UVA is allowed to go into droughts. Listen, when I watch a UVA game, I watch the opposing team’s TOTAL in relation to allowing less than 50 points per game. If that pace is consistent, then I don’t care they are down 13-2 early like last night. The offensive will even out at some point. They are now saying this guy might be back before the real tourney.
-I think the Cowboys merely weighed the percentages in franchising Dez Bryant and I think it will be smart in the long run.
-I think Peyton Manning is very glad the Broncos franchised Demaryius.
-If Tiger was really suspended, I am sure we would have heard it somewhere else than where the story briefly began and ended.
-My feeling is that Nike pays MJ a little more than the $100 million that is rumored, and that he will just move up the Forbes list. Congrats on being on the list finally, MJ.
-If you doubt the Pats franchising a kicker, than know you have another couple years of hearing about the Patriot Way since…they just won the damn thing again. Think how long that myth lasted WITHOUT them winning it.
That is all for today. I hope you were entertained. Talk to you tomorrow, and thanks for the readership. Peace.
