Catch of the Day.
HOOK:
Quick hitters from yesterday’s action:
Impressive win by Wichita State, and the better team won. KU is pretty young right now and will be back. I had no idea that Wichita State’s Eval Wessel and KU’s Perry Ellis won THREE state championships together in high school.
Dayton got a little bump from being home, but you get to a point where a smaller, less talented team WILL get beat by a much more solid team. I don’t think the play in game helped Dayton’s energy level either.
Gonzaga DOES look good, but I will not say they look better than Duke, and will say that playing North Dakota State and Iowa aren’t what I am looking at when seeing if they go to the next level.
Northern Iowa had a chance to beat a high profile team in a down year and didn’t take advantage of it. Tough convincing people about mid majors when chances like that go by.
WVA was the better team yesterday, and injuries are a part of the game, but I really wish we could have seen that game play out with no injury to Trimble.
Wisconsin did its thing, which isn’t the flashiest or most exciting, but they sure as heck can score a little more than UVA with a similar type of system. If Dekker starts balling like yesterday, look OUT. I think Wisconsin had 15 turnovers TOTAL in its first two games.
LINE:
Maybe it wasn’t his best shooting night of the year, but Russell is still lighting it up like The Big O back in the day.
SINKER:
Darren Sharper gets nine years in prison, and I THINK (I stopped reading the article after a bit) that is from only ONE of the four states he has horribly wronged young women in. Sad stuff.
