Catch of the Day.
HOOK:
This is the best MVP race in the NBA in YEARS. With Harden going large again last night, him and Westbrook are trying to make late noise against the favorite in LeBron and the best player on the best team in Curry.
Harden leads the league in free throw attempts, which shows a lot on HOW he plays his position every single game.
James has not been 100%, and this race might be even closer (or farther) if he was operating normally. His activity recently on the boards has been a little troublesome.
Curry is the best player on a team that is best in offensive and defensive efficiency. That is like the 72-10 Bulls back in the day, and you get the feeling he could score 40 every night if he wanted to.
Westbrook is playing amazingly, but the contest doesn’t start on February 1. Sorry.
I am still leaning Curry’s way, but if Harden finishes strong, I am in his court. I am still taking a slightly higher PER from Curry on a better team even with his slightly lower stat line.

SINKER:
“Status.”
Why is ASU looking at Jeff Capel? They could fish so much better candidates than a 40 year old coach who is an assistant again after two not so hot gigs. I guess either ASU doesn’t THINK they can pull someone else, or maybe they think Capel has learned some good stuff since being back at Duke. Or, as Lost Lettermen noted, maybe he is bringing a new version of Blake Griffin along.
My college picks broken down tomorrow. That is all for today. Peace.
