Catch of the Day. The Blogenant (again now that I have seen it).
I have some work to do, football is on, and I wake up tomorrow at 330am to make a work flight. We are doing this ONE sentence per hook style. The super speed version with pictures. Let’s move.
- I will be posting this while have the city of Denver is sweating out this game, and I am in your corner today, Broncos fans…good luck.
- JJ. Nah. No pops really. Just a drink at brunch and one Corona in front of me. Love that guy.
- Von Miller just made a stellar interception while they are up 7-6, so things are going ok for the Mile High City.
- I officially test drove a 4Runner yesterday, I officially still want one, and am scary knowledgeable about those things after a couple conversations yesterday.
- Good thing, because heads are turning in a bad way on the street when me and Eleanor drive down the street, and I have to plan extra time just in case that trip is the ONE where she quits on me.
- I hope she isn’t mad I am flirting with other girls while she is still on the road and semi-running.
- Denver score…14-6.
- My colleague who is helping me rebuild this and I spent 30 minutes talking about my site, it is going to be incredible, and we obviously have to design it so I have very little upkeep.
- Along with all of my social media, archives, the new The River section, and a comment section, here is that brainstorm again on some of the attributes of the site.
- He likes the Top Gun 2 idea too, so that is a GO.
- Still everything has to do with fishing or water, as my dad is an “angler,” I love the water, and all of these blog terms were started from my work colleague, Joe G (OLD school reader back in the early days).
- The River applies to both poker and fishing, and I love it.
- Djokovic had one HUNDRED unforced errors his last match…and still won.
- Tom Crean is beating the hell out of a yet to be hard schedule, but has at least now solidified the fact HE is going nowhere for years to come with new recruits coming soon.
- It was going gray area before this streak no matter what his contract said…it is freaking IU basketball.
- I just realized that Lindsey has not seen Straight Outta Compton yet, so I guess we know what we are doing one of the nights next weekend.
- ONLY complaint is that it tackles no issues and is more storytelling like, but Ice Cube’s son is awesome in it.
- ESPN’s 538 has much more than sports, and here is a great Oscars breakdown (more to come on Oscar stuff). http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/fivethirtyeights-guide-to-predicting-the-oscars/
- I have to be forced sometimes to get things done, but wedding gear is now ordered…khaki vest and pants with sandals on the beach.
- Before the second game kicks off, know I have said it from the get go I think Arizona is the best team in all of the playoffs.
- Not saying I want dangerous conditions, but I find it odd that I live by the Rocky Mountains and my old home town has the blizzard I kind of want out here.
- I will help you out if you missed Ronda Rousey on SNL last night, as the monologue was the worst like ever, the show itself sucked except for the Oscars skit, and just save yourself 90 minutes or whatever of your time in this life that we live.
- We went to Humboldt Fish Farm Wine last night, their burger I have #2 on my Colorado rankings (Justice Snow’s is #1), and I swear every time I bit down on the messy bacon and beef genius stroke, I paused and enjoyed every ounce of it.
- Go at happy hour and the $16 burger (worth every penny) is only $10.
- Michigan State got a GREAT win against a dangerous Maryland team the other day to stop a losing streak, and I am slowly starting to believe the MD juggernaut might not work out their chemistry issues by March.
- When I get my new site up and running, I would change the predictions tab for the Final Four and take MD out.
- Thanks, SMU, and there goes THAT undefeated but not allowed in postseason problem we thought we might have.
- They will drop like a ROCK in the rankings with THEIR schedule.
- South Carolina lost too, so that twosome is out the window…sorry, Frank.
- I had breakfast at Prohibition today, had the “Bison PASTRAMI Hash,” and believe I couldn’t have had to better back to back meals than that and the Humboldt burger last night.
- Heavy money is on the Pats today with the line not really moving, so therefore the mood of Vegas goes similarly to the mood of Denver.
- I assume that NC State is hoping they get the physical attributes but not necessarily all of the mental obstacles in the son of Randy Moss on their football team.
- I know things are out of hand in life in general when I am watching a long preview at the theater and see something that is called “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.”
- As a huge Dokken fan, I admit to not knowing until yesterday listening to the Sirius Hair Nation channel that George Lynch lost out to Randy Rhoades in 1979 to be Ozzy’s guitarist.
- Then, lost a couple years later to the next guy.
- George was great, but he overdubbed too much. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkVW1pHs0LY
- I am glad my home crib got hit a little by snow, as I didn’t know that fellow South Jersey brethren Mike Trout really, really wanted to be a weatherman.
- Shame he ended up being like the greatest baseball player we have seen in 40 years in the meantime.
- Going to drive around OK for work next week, so my posts might be a little later early this week until I get to the hotel room.
- But the mind will forever be churning and the yellow legal pad will be added to.
- Lindsey just asked me if we are wearing matching shirts at our bachelor party in Vegas…what?????
- UK definitively beat a solid Vandy team yesterday, and confused whether UK is getting really good or whether I was really wrong about how Vandy is a March Madness sleeper.
- I am pretty sure it has only happened 4 times in history, and since no one is really stepping up, OU MIGHT stay #1 with a good win at Baylor and a good loss at ISU.
- Seriously, Rules of Engagement is a really, really, really funny show.
- I forgot that the late game is a matchup of two different Heisman winners, from different generations…interesting.
- I was sleeping and dreaming when they had a commercial about a movie with Batman and Superman, right?
- INT…Denver…14-9.
- Steve Kerr is back and everyone is happy out West, but pretty sure, ridiculously talented or not, Luke Walton has earned himself a future coaching job.
- As long as his dad keeps going to Dead shows and announcing basketball games, I am fine with whatever that family does.
- Except for the bottom half of the women’s draw (which is a trainwreck), the Aussie draw is not really surprising and has many of the usual suspects.
- Really sad though that Serena and Maria have to face each other this early, no matter HOW many times Maria has gotten her ass kicked by Ms. Williams.
- Possible I just wanted to show a picture of Maria.
- One more year of maturation on those sick, young arms, and they reel back in Cespedes…the Mets aren’t going ANYWHERE.
- Just an open water swim left in a crater before swimming with the sharks in Belize for my scuba certification…
- I have said it before and will say it again…I LOVE the show Shark Tank.
- Just get kind of jealous other people have all of these cool ideas…
- Watched again the old Justin Bieber roast on Comedy Central, and it was funnier than I remembered the first time.
- Two more things and we are done with one sentence hooks as of now. Important sports story and important movie. Blatt deserved to get fired. I think James had a little to do with it no matter what he says. I agree with the firing though. He is not the guy to get them to the finish line, but sucks to be on the short list of coaches getting fired right after an NBA Finals trip the year before. Here is my problem. Fire away, and that is fine. The quick hiring of a young coach in Lue is wrong. “Interim” is ok for the moment and the three years is ridiculous, especially for a guy who wants to run a different style. The executive decisions in that entire town are just weird. Anyway, I agree with the execution but not the immediate permanent promotion.
- Second thing. I went and watched Revenant this weekend. NO spoilers in this review. I will keep it high level with no specifics to not ruin anything. First, there is no real detailed background on the family situation to make me care any more about than all the other stuff that is going on. Wasn’t really needed. Second, there is a scene when the Indians hit whatever they shoot and there is another scene where the Indians can’t hit the broad side of the barn. Third, kind of sad but cool they incorporated Empire Strikes Back into one of the scenes. Fourth, there are some hard core parts, so bring a strong stomach, weaker movie watchers. Fifth, when the original true story is as crazy as it was, you could have just gone with the actual story the whole way through. Sixth, and including a brief minor “twist” scene, the movie was extremely predictable. Lindsey and I called most of the turns. Seventh, they keep talking about where they are and trying to get to Missouri, but the whole movie is filmed in mountains. Didn’t look like anywhere near the Missouri River to me. Eighth, whether fake or not, the scenery and effects are AMAZING. Overall, it was a stellar movie. Overall, I get that another movie may win out on Best Picture, but if anyone beats Leonardo on Best Actor, I am petitioning some people.
- I asked Lindsey what the official definition of a “revenant” was after the movie, and she said “combo of revenge and covenant,” which actually makes a lot of sense even though now true. Funny exchange.
- That’s it. Going to get back to work and the game. Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed. Will I blog tomorrow? That is a CLOWN question, bro. Peace.
- I will blog tomorrow, but it will be an Airplane Rant posted late night when I am done work stuff. Peace again.
