Catch of the Day. Voting.
I am back. Two long days of company meetings and scuba class gave me no time to blog…
HOOK:
“Picks.”
Carolina vs. Arizona:
I wasn’t drinking the Kool-Aid before the season, I didn’t drink it during, and still have not had a sip. Sure, my surprise about the Seahawks first half maybe made me SMELL the Kool-Aid, but I didn’t drink it. Carolina is a mask. I think they are really good on defense, but I think you can shut down their offense. So, when it comes to this weekend, I think Arizona beats Carolina pretty decisively. I firmly believe that Arizona has been the best and most consistent team all season. They win by 10 in this one. 30-20.
Denver vs. New England:
Some of you think I am a hater. Most of you know I have a man crush on Mr. Brady. But let’s break this down with reality. This is in altitude. New England has not been consistent on offense all season. This is Brady vs. Peyton. This is a road favorite game. This is a very good Broncos defense. Do I think that maybe Brady will find a way? Yes. Is this blog about straddling the fence? No. Therefore, I see the Broncos as the more complete team right now overall and the home field advantage takes its toll in the second half. Says here the Broncos win by 4. 27-23

Good trash talking stuff about the legendary ’86 Celtics. http://www.csnne.com/boston-celtics/talking-talk-86-celtics-trash-talking-tale

I get the honor of being an All Star on your last go around when you are a legend. Ok. I think you still have to be in the ballpark of decent numbers to get that go around though. Kobe, you were one of the most unbelievable basketball players we have ever seen in your prime. But the dude is averaging 16-3-4 and shooting at a .345 clip. His freaking PER is barely over 13. Come on, fans. Draymond Green gets ousted from the starting lineup for KOBE???? This leads me to a couple other complaints. Zaza Pachulia was only 14k votes out of STARTING this ASG. Dude is averaging 10 and 10. Another problem. The lineups don’t make sense. I know they keep tinkering with HOW fans vote, but it is not working. WEST: Curry, Westbrook, Kobe, Durant, Leonard. EAST: James, George, Melo, Lowry, Wade. Those lineups are GOOD, but ridiculous. Durant is tall enough to play a 4, but he is a 3 in reality. Leonard. 3. Curry, Westbrook. Guards. Kobe. 3. James. 3. George. Forced to play a 4. Melo. 3. Lowry and Wade. Guards. WHERE ARE THE FREAKING BIG MEN? Even if we DON’T have good big men these days, we still need to have a sensible NBA lineup. Even if the Warriors won playing small, we still need a sensible NBA lineup. No sense. Redo the system. Not working.
THE RIVER:
-The MD-MSU game this weekend might be a Final Four preview.
-And pretty sure MSU is still steaming about losing to NEBRASKA????
-The Sooners drop a game after being named #1 and now get to go TO Baylor. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them drop another one.
-I don’t care about Marshawn Lynch retiring or not until the teams STILL playing are done with things.
-Tennis player Nick Kyrgios is missing one element of his temper tantrum act he has. You are not John McEnroe like and enjoyed for your anger until you WIN. Win a Grand Slam and THEN be an idiot.
-Will they have biggest idiot contests at team practice with Josh Smith joining Dwight Howard and Ty Lawson on the Rockets?
-You know some people don’t like Chip Kelly when a linebackers coach in Houston won’t go to the Bay Area for a promotion.
-Josh Gordon has asked Goodell to lift his ban, and I think we all need that stupid man back in the NFL playing again. Please, Roger.
-Leyton Hewitt bowed out this week in his final Slam, and he will always be one of my favorite tennis players to pick up a racket.
-We live in a crazy world where now George Karl is complimenting DeMarcus Cousins.
-Good luck, east coast. At least your heat wave is done.
-The Bulls have been asked about the Warriors, and once again the Bulls would take down that hypothetical series in five…maybe six.
-Great that a team finally hired a full time female assistant. Kind of surprised for no reason it is Rex Ryan’s team that broke the barrier.
-If you want a ranked team that will screw up your bracket in the first round, look at Xavier. They have two losses. At home to a bad Gtown team and by THIRTY to Nova.
-Lift that ban on SMU basketball, so THEY can also screw up our brackets as an undefeated team.
-I don’t care what any of you say. I love the movie The American President.
That’s it. Will I blog tomorrow? That is a CLOWN question, bro. Peace.
