And Wahoowa…
SETTING:
This is written in two parts. One on the way to San Diego, and the other on the way back. I love Airplane casts. Posted in Uber on way home from airport. This is not really edited, so apologies on that front. This is written blind, with just my Google Doc ideas pasted. Off the cuff and love every minute of it.
I feel the need…the need for speed.
Let’s turn and burn.
EVERGREEN (topics that don’t fade away):
FINAL FOUR
We are here. We are at the point in the season that every hoops team hopes to participate in. The Final Four. Brackets have been busted. As always, the teams are all good, but off the beaten path surprises in their own unique way. The rest of the teams who couldn’t string together four straight wins are forgotten and become hard trivia questions for bar chats. Now, we are in the week of buildup before the greatest basketball day of the year. Then, the quick turnaround after a day off and much less time for hype. It is magical, people. Embrace it. UVA is the team who might win it after a year of tortured jokes after losing to a 16 seed, armed with a bunch of choir-looking boys who can play lights out. Auburn is the hot-shooting team that can’t be turned away, even with one less guy in the middle. Michigan State is a fantastic team that no one thought had the goods to go this far, given their early season loss of Josh Langford. And Texas Tech plays ugly, plays defense, and plays non-sexy tough. The Final Four is so special. I hope you enjoy it. We, of course, KNOW the only way I personally can fully enjoy it.
SAN DIEGO
I leave San Diego with the same thoughts I always have about the city. Within the US borders, it is my favorite town. It has a bay, the ocean, the Gaslamp, Navy ships, a great ballpark, consistent weather, and food that blows your mind. Don’t ever change. Stay classy.
NBA PLAYOFFS
You probably won’t have this happen next year, so take this year’s oddity and enjoy it. There is no LeBron in the NBA playoffs It is a gaping hole that hasn’t existed since he came into the league. Not only are we used to him being in the playoffs, but usually until the end too. So, do this for me, folks. Window shop the other guys. Get to know the special attributes of the other guys trying to take out Golden State. Soak in a game with The Greek Freak. He is one of a kind. Watch a game with Jayson Tatum, a superstar in the making. Watch the magic of the Portland little guys, watch the old school moves of Jokic, watch the beauty of the Harden step-back three, and try and figure out how little we talk about the awesome starting five from Toronto. But, basically what I am saying is this. Instead of thinking the NBA will hurt lacking LeBron, breathe some different air. And enjoy.
MANU
I am not splitting the atom if I make a statement like “We will never have another undersized sixth man in the NBA Hall of Fame again.” We won’t. Manu was unbelievable in every respect. He gave the opposing teams reserves nightmares, brought the Eurostep to mainstream, and was an instrumental part of multiple championship teams. I hope you enjoyed his journey, because I sure did. He changed the entire meaning of what a backup is in the NBA and stretched the outer limits of scouts in the NBA and where they fish for new talent. Manu was a game changer. Manu was a legend. And we won’t see anyone like Manu ever again.
WEEK-FISH (current topics of interest in sports):
- The FSU-Gonzaga game was a clash of deep, athletic, and long teams, AND a rematch of last year in the tourney, but somehow all of that familiarity and similarities created one sloppy game. Sure, defensive prowess can be said instead of offensive ineptness, but however you slice it, turning to the Purdue-Tennessee game was a more pleasurable experience.
- The Purdue-Tennessee game was loud crowd, shot-making, runs by each team, and the Ryan Kline show. It kind of had all the stuff you wanted in an Elite Eight game.
- UVA-Oregon was scary for us UVA fans. What is the Achilles heel of UVA? Athletic long guys who can shoot. That is what Oregon is. I was told the next day how lucky we were to advance. I replied that what they viewed as luck, I viewed as an opponent who was meant to stroke the weakness of UVA was hitting some shots and STILL lost to my team. Clark was key throughout, and Jerome hit some timely shots.
- In the Texas Tech-Michigan game, I think you have to find a solution when something isn’t working. Sure, teams have bad shooting nights, and Michigan was having one of those. But, in that sequence, I kind of expected Michigan to come out in the second half with some radical tactics change, not more of the same (and hoping the shots would start falling).
- The one thing about the format of the tourney is you have one long prep period and then one short prep period in the same weekend. In the Michigan State-LSU game, I thought that not only did we see that obviously MSU was the better team, whether hitting three’s or not, but also the week of prep given to Tom Izzo.
- I felt for UNC fans. They had a couple of things happen to them. One, they played a team that was NOT afraid of their pace. Those teams don’t come along every day. Two, some shots were falling. Those include balanced three’s, off balance three’s, and some odd rolls on the rim. Two, UNC had two sick players, and those were star guys. They played ok, but you could just tell they didn’t have the edge and were not 100%. Three, you don’t beat UNC like that (badly). It doesn’t matter which year. UNC teams will hang. It simply was Auburn’s day and not UNC’s day.
- We forget that VA Tech has played Duke tough through the season too. And they beat them. Justin Robinson back from injury was big, and the injury to Reddish didn’t help Duke. I thought Duke would roll in this one after their close call. Well, it turns out that Duke’s close call wasn’t an aberration, and more of a pattern. I don’t fault Coach K for much in his genius, but I will say that his development of his role players throughout the season wasn’t off the charts. I think he should have taken a couple of games playing his other kids more, because when Duke is missing one of the big three plus 1, they look lost. How Duke has a thin bench is beyond me.
- UK took down Houston in much closer fashion than I expected, with or without PJ Washington. But, PJ not only playing but also looking pretty darn good and in shape definitely saved UK in this game.
- Gonzaga looked like they might have been told about Texas Tech’s defense, but maybe didn’t watch much film in the shortened timeframe. They looked a little surprised and lackadaisical with the ball. Their talent allowed them to stay in the game of course, and some mental errors sealed the game, but overall Texas Tech looked like maybe not the “better” team, but the more on-point for that day team.
- Again, people will say UVA got lucky and were saved by a miracle against Purdue. I will phrase it this way. When we see a legendary tourney performance, that player’s team almost always wins. So, call it luck. I call it three things. A) Kyle Guy, our leading scorer, finally found his groove, and it couldn’t have been at a better time. B) We won in SPITE of a legendary performance. The fact that UVA could stay focused after the banked in three by Edwards is saying something about the overall focus of this team. C) Yes, a little bit of luck too, folks.
- I hope coach Cal makes his team watch the game tape, whether it be this year, next year, or whenever. Sure, I saw some Auburn hunger, shot making, and some lucky rim rolls yet again. But, I also saw the faces of UK players looking like they expected to win at some point. They were lucky to get into OT, and when they did, they looked like they were expecting to play 20 minutes instead of 5 minutes for it all. Was not impressed with how they carried themselves.
- In Duke-MSU, what we witnessed was an experienced team with the capability of anyone stepping up at any point, against a couple of stars almost flipping a coin as to who was going to drive or shoot it next time down the floor. That was fantastic play design out of a timeout with the Goins three to put them up. And, if I am on the Duke side of things, HOW does Zion not take a shot after the 1:41 mark? How do you let that happen? Did Barrett try and jump Zion in the draft just with a couple of last second shot attempts?
- My Final Four looked pretty solid going into Sunday morning, but then the wheels came off the train. So, reconfiguring and recalculating, who do I have? I think MSU has the mojo on the left side of the bracket. I think they have a coach who has been there multiple times. I think that we are giving Izzo another week to prepare for a team. MSU has the size to negate any Tech advantage. They have the shooters to shoot over the defense. They have the experience to not get rattled. And they have old-man game Cassius Winston. MSU wins 70-65.
- On the other side, Auburn is the team of destiny, playing the defense that makes you look bad. I know you could throw the new coach in the Final Four stats at me with Tony Bennett, but he is playing a new coach in it too. Therefore, I have to go with the better team. Can Auburn possibly shoot over the defense? Sure. But, Hunter will be the deciding factor. Auburn has guard quickness to negate some of the outside shots from UVA. But, Hunter driving to the basket and Jerome being 6’5” will be two things that are too much for Auburn. Throw in Diakite’s resurgence, and the welcome back party of Kyle Guy, and UVA wins 65-59.
- Final game? Michigan State has ousted UVA a couple of times in the tourney. So, it is fitting that they line up one more time for it all. If Kyle Guy’s mojo is back fully, we aren’t losing this game. Quick turnaround for Izzo’s team, and UVA has made it through the tough rounds. We are at the point where the better team should win, and that is presently UVA. If MSU had Langford, I might think a little differently, but they don’t and that is a big hole where the rubber meets the road. UVA will win 63-60 vs. MSU.
- Other random thoughts in hoops.
- I still don’t like the NBA announcers being mixed into the college game. When I can tell that they just watched film and learned someone’s name about an hour before the game, it bothers me.
- On Saturday, I read an article on SI.com, reseeding the Elite Eight. UVA was ranked #8. Our first three games weren’t THAT precarious, y’all. Take that and rewind it back.
- The fact that Auburn used the Okeke as motivation as opposed to an excuse is really, really great coaching by Pearl and shows a great culture on that team.
- Fred Hoiberg is walking in certain failure, if you ask me. He can spin how his parents went there, he was born there, and all that jazz, but a coach trying to prove he knows what he is doing with no record of true success yet at a football school is just not the way to go if you ask me. I would have interviewed elsewhere before jumping into this one.
- Cam Reddish will go #3 or #4 in the NBA draft maybe and make lots of money in the NBA. But, HOW do you explain, pre and post injury, how inconsistent he has been ALL year playing next to two other superstars. He never found a groove that could be trusted if you ask me. If I am an NBA scout, I am skipping him on the list if I like the guy one or two after him on the mock board.
- Oh. And I always just do money line if I do UVA at all, because I never want to be sad about a point spread, but did you SEE that back door cover of 4.5 they pulled in the Purdue game? I didn’t event notice it until later as my stress about the game was too high, but that would have made me mad if I was someone taking Purdue and the points.
- John Calipari had his contract extended to lifetime. This makes sense. He has proven himself with recruiting time and time again. He has taken young teams to the promised land, showing fantastic coaching methods along the way. He plays a solid brand of basketball. And there is nowhere else to go, since UK is sort of the pinnacle of college hoops. I am not the biggest fan of Cal, but I respect what he has done at UK.
- Someone pay off that Kenny Goins loan. Please. The guy just hit the clutch shots of all clutch shots to beat Duke, and he is still paying his first-year tuition. I hate to see a kid struggling in this time where paying college athletes is such a hot topic.
- Ja Morant declared for the draft. If you didn’t catch his first-round triple double, then you missed out on some magic. Doesn’t matter. He has star written all over him for the next level.
- I get having roots and a history, but I don’t totally get the decision of Buzz Williams to go back to Texas A&M. He just spent years building up the Virginia Tech program. Now, he heads to a football school that also plays some hoops? Lateral move if you ask me.
- Houston signed Kelvin Sampson to an extension. This makes perfect sense. He has built up that program, and they are hanging around the top level for a while now. And, he already has dabbled in the big name arena. They ditched him. Why would he WANT to go back to a “higher” level, when he has what he needs at Houston. Good move for both sides.
NFL
- In what is shaping up to be a trivia question galore career, Greg Schiano resigned from a position with the Pats that no one really knew what was. “Faith and family.” Sure, Greg. Whatever. You might be a genius, but all you are right now is a trivia question.
- My limited viewing of Josh Rosen is that he is an aloof jerk. That being said, I think the Pats someone snag him in the near future. I admit he has the physical tools, and one place where he can go and NOT be cocky would be under Mr. Brady up in Boston.
- I need a flow chart. Kraft is admitting guilt, suppressing video evidence, and pulling other legal moves faster than I can track.
- It wasn’t a big headline oddly, but look out, NFC. If the Eagles lacked one thing, it was a front-line RB. Assuming he still has plenty more in the tank, which I think he does, Jordan Howard solves that problem immediately.
- Classy. The Cowboys gave a contract extension to a suspended player, Randy Gregory. That is a commitment I wouldn’t make at this time. Do we even know exactly how long his suspension even is?
- Tom Brady made a funny. He tweeted about retiring. You are so hilarious, Tommy Boy. He also mentioned he hopes Gronk comes back still for another year. That is stating the obvious. Brilliant. In related news, the grass is green and the sky is blue.
NBA
- OKC Thunder got press for a 24-0 run against the Pacers. Besides the fact that a 24-0 in the ultra-skilled NBA is ridiculous in a lot of ways, they also beat, if you care, the 6.5 spread after their fancy run.
- It is Monday. Has Devin Booker put up another 50-point game in a big team loss again?
- The Bucks have done nothing for decades. First the Brogdon injury occurred. That is something they can overcome, and he might be back later in the playoffs. But, ankle problems for Giannis after they are in line for home court advantage throughout? That would be some bad luck. Given we are already down one superstar in the playoffs with LeBron’s Lakers laying an egg, we certainly don’t want to be missing another one…for general fan’s sakes.
- I don’t necessarily root against Steph and the Evil Empire, but it is funny when bad things happen to them. I enjoyed watching him taunt the refs after a long three, and then lose on a buzzer beater seconds later.
- Sometimes a headline blindsides you on multiple levels. The Porzingis-rape one did that to me. It was a horrible charge from a possible league savior at such an odd time. Still early, so I won’t assume everything is true yet, but man I hope this one is all smoke and mirrors.
- Something a headline doesn’t blindside you. Another day, and Cousins apparently was ejected from a game. Sounds about right.
- James Harden got another 50-point triple double, which also gave him NINE 50-point games this season. Both of those facts are pretty much insane.
- Not to be totally outdone, Russell made sure to log a 20-20-20 game.
- I found it interesting looking at NBA team schedules this week. You think you know the seedings, but teams like the Celtics and Nuggets play ALL playoff teams the rest of the way. For those teams, nothing will be easy.
- The Wizards fired their GM, which makes sense because they have no plan to note, they have been horrible for quite a long time, and even have unlikeable players on the roster.
MLB
- I guess the opening day guys decided to party like it was 1999, when PED’s were in the game. LOTS of HR’s hit. And although eight was a lot for the Dodgers, I was more surprised about who those eight were against. Zack Greinke.
- Bryce Harper is now the best-selling MLB jersey, which should make his head smaller to fit though doors. All he needs is MORE reasons to be cockier.
- I will say that hitting a 465-foot BOMB is one way to answer your hitless debut though.
- Paul Goldschmidt isn’t messing around for his new team either.
- Christian Yelich is now on a short list of pretty big names by homering in his first four games this year.
- There are some stats that don’t get their due. Not flashy enough I think. Jake DeGrom, Mets pitcher, has had THIRTY straight starts with three runs or less allowed. That is insane.
- The Rockies giving Marquez the $43 million has to make that fan base happy. A) They are spending money and B) It is on pitchers.
- Nationals fans booed Bryce Harper’s first at bat and cheered when he struck out. So, although this was a homecoming of sorts, that is pretty much what he will be dealing with in Philly anyway to some degree. Boos.
- I went to the Padres game the other night, and the announcer was HILARIOUS. I would love to hang out with that guy.
- They do this fun thing on the big screen, where people have to do their impression of Titanic. Funny stuff.
- We left the game early though. We were wondering what the ridiculously loud cheers were after leaving when they were still down a couple of runs. Then, we figured it out. Machado hit his first homer. Missed that.
- There was like NOBODY at that ballgame. Yes, it was the Diamondbacks and yes, it was a Tuesday, but still was surprised on getting our own SECTION for our seats.
NHL
Nothing of note this week. Passing on this…
MISCELLANEOUS
- Not sure how many years they have been doing this, but I personally did NOT know the WGC now had a pool round and that you could lose and still win the thing. Case in point. Kevin Kisner.
- Aside from the 4-footer he missed to extend the match, Tiger had a solid showing. I know he wanted to win, but he accomplished what he needed to do. A) Playing lots of golf in a short time injury free. B) Advancing to the later stages and being in the mix. C) Providing an eagle as a flash of old-school Tiger brilliance just to keep us on our toes. D) He took down fellow-jerk Rory McElroy.
- That is great. Hurry up and get here, Masters.
- 101. I don’t care what sport you like, follow, or play. Federer winning his 101st title overall is ridiculous.
- The AAF suspended play. Tree, forest, sound, folks.
- Stephen A. Smith somehow got an extension or raise to make him the highest paid ESPN guy. Why again are we giving marginally irritating guys who obviously don’t speak to football well MORE money?
THIS AND THAT (pop culture, Fillerbuster thoughts):
- I forgot to check to see whether this plane was a Boeing Max 8. Sure hope not.
- I love things that make a comeback but sometimes am so surprised it made it through a time period. Breakdancing will most likely be in the 2024 Olympics. Have people kept doing it? Is it still cool? I just figure that since most other things I like in life have progressed to the uncool side, that it had too. Glad you made it through it. You are like Van Halen and Guns and Roses making it through the glam rock era.
- In my 20 questions bi-weekly segment for the sales meeting, I successfully got the guy to breakdance…kind of. It was an upright version of it.
- So, Roundup was such a badass weed killer because it had stuff it shouldn’t have had in it? Got it. Glad we checked that out so soon.
- Not surprised, but didn’t know Cardi B was a stripper in her past life. Under the umbrella of me now knowing that fact, I am definitely NOT surprised that she drugged men and took their money as a stripper.
- I am good at laughing at myself and definitely have much material on myself. So, it is possible that I just discovered within the last 2 weeks that the Wacky Mac I have used for my pasta salad for the last 20 years…is made of veggies???? Ugghhh. I had no idea.
- Thank you, Michigan State and Auburn. Instead of me being confused by having three picks remaining in my knockout pool, and all teams left for my Final Four, you have made it simple for me and basically I just need UVA to win to be in the money on anything.
- I love sports. I love my job. It takes very special circumstances for me to combine the two. But, I guess some people’s comfort levels are different. I looked over at a new guy’s (within two months) computer last week and he had an entire screen on opening day for baseball. Must be nice, man, to have no conscience.
- I noticed a commercial for cheaper Bounty rolls for people on a budget. I can’t decide if I was more surprised that they had this option at all, or if it was the fact that there was a paid advertisement for it.
- Reading Five Things To Know Today on CNN is beneficial for a person like me who reads about sports and sports only. Hey. I know about this Brexit thing. I know about Venezuela. And that Boeing Max 8
- Kind of sad I am flying into San Diego in the daytime and not by a window. That visual never gets old for me.
- There is a new study that will pay someone $19,000 if they can stay in bed for two consecutive months.
- There is a park in Japan that has deer that bow for treats, and that sentence alone almost makes me want to hop on a flight to Japan.
- I was told the other day by a guy who knows me well that I remind him of George Brett. I hadn’t heard that one, but will be checking out the interview on Undeniable. Just lacking a couple of batting titles…
- My company, at the end of months and quarters, oddly schedules trivia, fun Fridays, and other lively engagements. Literally, on the last day of the month. That is called out of whack. Nothing like sitting around waiting for deals to come in with loud music and drunk people around you.
- I am excited to see the lazy river where I am staying.
- I am excited to schedule a little time to buy some beach beads, bracelets, and necklaces. My wife loves all of my beads, bracelets, and necklaces. Obviously, very sarcastic.
- Denver got some late March snow the other day. I am sure it was all over the national news so everyone on the east coast again thinks it just snows in Denver.
- Truth. Our weather is the best, people.
- Less surprised that Coke has this new Orange Vanilla flavor than the lack of commercial approach or catchy song with it. With this being so groundbreaking, I expected more on the marketing front.
- My wife and her friend took me to a dive bar the other night. It won’t be our last time there. It was my type of place. “My type of place” is two pool tables, cash only bar, and the old-school juke box with CD’s in it where you flop them side to side to advance.
- $1 played FIVE songs.
- The funnest thing about betting is the parlays. I did fine on the last round, but woke up on Saturday, realizing I had picked all eight winners in the previous two days. Stellar.
- I went to the UVA watch party at Blake Street Tavern. It was cool. On the good news, I watched the game with my fraternity brother from UVA who graduated two years after me. That was awesome. The bad news was that people are pessimistic and said to me to stop being hopeful and that “we had lost” with 15 seconds left in the Purdue game. We ended up winning on a miracle, but still told those people THAT was why I didn’t venture off of my couch. I hate pessimistic people and have seen enough sports miracles to believe in a lot of stuff. I never gave up hope-you can ask my wife.
- You better go find a Payless Shoes soon. This out of business sale is real, and goes until the end of May for some stores (some are already closed). Anyway, I got FOUR pairs of shoes, including Dexter dress ones, for $85 on Saturday.
- Our new trade show outfit is kind of silly if you ask me, as I wouldn’t wear that combo anywhere at any time. But, I guess it is easier than packing a sport coat or two. Jeans and button down shirt? Weird.
- I went to a mall the other day. The day went as it always does on the few times I go “shopping.” Dangerously productive for the first hour, and then I hit a wall, and literally almost feel like walking over and driving over people to get out of there.
- On the way back from the mall, I was on Colorado Blvd. Taking a left on that road is insane. I call it the devil road, and try to make my experiences on it, no matter which part of it, brief and left turn free.
- Not marketable? That Mike Trout commercial with him dancing is awesome.
- Squeezed in another Game of Thrones the other night after Lindsey went to bed. So much fun to watch. The time travel glitch though is so obvious in that last season. Now that I am doing a puzzle of the GOT map, it is more crazy to me. People just travel from place to place, like they have private jets.
- I have to admit that using a microwave for the first time since last June this weekend was pretty stellar.
- We almost booked Jazz Fest (something we try to go to every few years) JUST to see the Stones. They had to cancel their tour. I would have been SO mad if the band I had booked a trip around cancelled.
- I feel like I might start yelling Bonvoy randomly when something makes me happy in a place I am visiting.
- So, is this Shazam movie like a different version of the Deadpool concept?
- Every time I hear the March Madness music, I am proud to say that I met the guy who wrote that. Definitely glad I went to talk to him.
- Billions decided to have a little fun and take an episode off of quality stuff. I expect great things in the next one or two, as they very obviously decided to take a break with Chickentown.
- Tin Fish in San Diego is a cool spot to grab lunch. Outdoors, good people watching, and stellar tacos and fish and chips.
- BUT, NOT near as great as one of my favorite meals EVER. Bluewater Grill in San Diego had fish tacos to die for. Not sure if I have had too many things that tasted better than my scallops taco.
- San Diego isn’t quite Austin, where you trip over scooters while walking down the street as there are so many, but they still do have a lot of them.
- I realized that when my colleague was buying the Padres tickets online, that Lindsey takes care of all of that stuff and spoils me.
- Fun reading. The Monday USA Today had a nice, sarcastic Game of Thrones recap in it, and the new Men’s Health has a GOT theme also.
- I didn’t do anything funny on April Fool’s Day. I always get halfway through the day before I remember it is happening.
- I think Untuckit shirts are stupid. I don’t want to buy a shirt made to be untucked. The best part of wearing a shirt untucked is because it is made to be tucked in. You are eliminating the edgy part of the idea.
- I love my 4Runner so much that I now go down the Emerald Aisle at National Rental Car and just look for the Toyota vehicles.
- One great thing about going to visit all of the casinos I do is that they always serve breakfast. I can eat breakfast three times a day if I want.
- I am still confused how the band Ghost is popular and people don’t think they sound like a glorified Dokken. They are tricking you, people.
- If you thought I wore a lot of UVA gear BEFORE this Final Four, wait until they win it.
- Pacific time sucks. I feel like everything is starting early, and that I am behind everyone.
- I was pretty sure my card playing would go well on Monday when I randomly parked in the Queen of Hearts aisle in the parking structure, and my room number had multiple 11’s in it.
- I realize that I would never try new food if I didn’t eat with Linds or a colleague. I think I would just resort to pizza all other times.
- Simple things amaze me. I think Google Docs are magical.
- One of my favorite things in life is when a line gets longer behind me.
- I found out that I am missing Widespread Panic because people decided on that weekend for our Cabo trip. Slightly sad, I think I will just use it as motivation for a road trip later this year.
- MGM has opened up a Hunger Games attraction (saw it in my gaming brief) and I admit to being very curious about what it entails.
TWEET OF THE WEEK:
I didn’t tweet a lot this week. Skipping this until I get back into routine. Plus, I am on a plane, so can’t really go onto Twitter. Let’s stick to the sanctity of the Airplane Cast.
THE BEST WORKOUT SONG EVER FOR THIS WEEK:
Although I have a long list of contenders, for now nothing has changed. Runnin from Creed II, Defying Gravity from Veer Union, and Tourniquet from Breaking Benjamin.
Although, my brother passed along a pretty great song you should check out. I am slightly hooked on it.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK:
Improv from me this week. On the fly, I said in a work conversation:
Not going to hold my breath, which eases the agony and elevates the surprise.
I could throw in a quote from Chickentown (Billions), but I am on a plane without internet.
LINKS TO SAVE YOU TIME IN LIFE:
BY THE NUMBERS:
Forgot to paste the numbers this round. Moving on.
THIS WEEK’S LIST:
No list this week.
THE RIDDLE:
No riddle this week.
CLOSING:
The theme? Well, I am on a plane, and I mentioned Widespread Panic. So, it seemed reasonable to quote their song, Airplane. You should check out the tune. Talk about a happy-go-lucky, chill song. Listen to Hatfield after that one, since it mentions San Diego and that is where I am coming back from.
Plus, my Hoos aren’t exactly a bunch of high flyers, so it seemed to make sense overall. No offense, Ty and friends.
Wahoowa, everyone.
That’s it for today. Hope you enjoyed or are at least more informed. Remember two things. First, feed yourself, feed your family, but always, always remember to…feed the wolf. Second, if you can’t spot the sucker in your first half hour at the table, then you are the sucker. Will I blog again? That is a CLOWN question, bro.
PICS:
I will include my San Diego pics when I write a blog after my Miami trip.
