FIVE THOUGHTS FOR TODAY.
- I think Les Miles and LSU SHOULD part ways. What is crazy is both have an argument. If you were to defend Les Miles, you would say he has a title and has the BEST percentage for wins than anyone at LSU over the last century. That is pretty impressive. This is what I say though. His one title was a team with two losses where other teams allowed them to back in the conversation. Lucky breaks. He only has two SEC titles with SIXTY FOUR NFL draft choices. Here is the bottom line. It has simply FELT midseason a LOT of the last 11 years that he should win a couple more BIG games with constant top 5 recruiting classes coming in.
- Glancing at the power rankings for the NBA, I notice at the bottom where the Sixers are and where the Lakers are just above them. So, on Dec. 1, both teams play where it could be Kobe’s last time playing in PA AND with the 76ers going for the all time worst start of all time. That is fun stuff.
- UVA basketball dropped to #12 this week in the polls. Not concerning overall as this is a long race. But, what DOES concern me is that they are ranked 29th in the land in team D and allowing 59.2 points per game. I can live with losses. I can’t live with my team playing the easy part of its schedule and allowing that many more points per game from last year. With Miami playing some ball this year, and Notre Dame reloading quickly it appears, the ACC is downright scary.
- The wind that you had this morning near your work was simply the entire state of Oklahoma sighing that Baker was cleared to practice and passed his concussion tests.
- Brock will start versus the Pats at QB. I won’t sit here and debate whether this is the official passing of the torch. What I DO know is this. Whether there is an injury or not, I bet the doctors are under strict orders to say there IS still one. Replacing a healthy Peyton before a battle with Tom Brady would make Manning fans go INSANE. But, with the decision to re-up Brock or not and a three game division cushion, why NOT start him? Talk to you all tomorrow.
