Heath.
Another quick one. Ran out of time today again.
HOOK:
“Heath.”
Heath Miller retired today and I am sad on two levels. One, he has been the definition of a tight end pass catcher, efficient blocker, and money when the Steelers needed a first down or TD. Two, he is a UVA guy. He never blew you away with stats and numbers, but was an reliable as they come. To add to that, he is a class act off the field. Well, at least Steelers fans won’t be yelling his name wrongly when Jesse James catches a ball next season. Happy trails, Heath.
LINE:
“Weekend.”
In ranked matchups:
Duke-UL: It seems easy to pick Duke after they won against UVA and UNC. This is at Louisville, they have nothing to play for but pride, and I think they run the shallow Duke lineup out of the gym.
Miami-UNC: UNC will rebound against a very dangerous Miami team.
Baylor-Texas: Will one of the teams please be consistently good or bad?
OU-WVA: I smell an upset at one of the hardest places to play.
Purdue-IU: Indiana small ball will win again.
SINKER:
“Wideman.”
We know about the suspension and penalties against Mr. Wideman, but how is the ref doing? I was sad to hear that Don Henderson is still experiencing concussion symptoms. Yes, it is a violent sport, but it is a shame when a guy gets hurt outside the time of actual play on the ice. Get better, Don.
THE RIVER:
DAYTONA PREDICTION: Given that I have no knowledge whatsoever on racing, I will say that Kyle Busch continues last year’s winning trend and snags his first Daytona 500 (I think it will be his first anyway).
Maryland, a Final Four pick of mine, lost to a very bad Minnesota team last night. They just can’t be consistent…or good.
Speaking of the river, I play poker tonight. May the force be with me.
No prizes, Marty, but got a feeling one is coming…
That’s it. Talk to you all this weekend. Will I blog tomorrow? That is a CLOWN question, bro. Peace.
