Catch Of The Day

I’m back…kind of. Shhhhhh….

Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for coming aboard (the boat).

Hello again.  Let’s EASE into this.  A couple of things…

This will be one liners.  I admit that.  But, the long term solution will be very different.  During my month reboot, I realized that I have bigger plans for this thing.  I will eliminate the dribble.  Not today, but I will very soon.

The reboot.  Well, consider a re-configuration.  Ever get your computer at work and go to start a meeting and realize you don’t have that software installed?  You still have the same computer, but it is starting from ground up in a way.  Well, I rebooted and we are starting over again.  Got it?

Instead of 50 things in three hours on my blog list, I have about 50 things in the MONTH since I left.  That is an improvement in itself.  Let’s get going.  More to come in the upcoming days, but it is just nice to be blogging again.

Here we go.  One sentence only per thought.

-No more numbers-everything is important.

-I am killing the subscriber notification list moving forward until after my cruise in May (tearing it down, and building it back up-think that was a quote from Apollo in Rocky III).

-The NBA MVP is Russell Westbrook, as averaging a triple double for a season is amazing AND his team will be in the playoffs minus their main guy from last year.

-The Big O averaged overall a triple double for his first FIVE seasons and that is…amazing.

-If you have wind in your geographic region today, it is because of my huge sigh that Big Ben is returning for another season.

-Yes, it pains me that Tim Tebow had a HR in his first minor league AB this year.

-Bryce Harper came to spring training in the best shape of his life, and therefore will have a great season and allow me to keep my traditional signoff, which WON’T go away, configuration or not.

-LaVar Ball was simply an idiot before he treaded on the slow white guy item.

-There will be no more prizes, since the audience I am aiming at is much larger than my small group of co-workers or friends.

-Shop all you want, as you should, Seattle, but you won’t trade Richard Sherman…no way.

-I am pretty sure the Warriors proved they are pretty good WITHOUT Kevin Durant, which is really, really scary.

-Good luck, Braves, and just thankful that the Phillies don’t have Ryan Howard on their roster anymore for a grossly overpaid salary.

-We will be talking about the Dustin Johnson injury for years, especially if he wins the next three when he returns.

-You people NOT from Jersey or who DON’T like basketball don’t understand the magnitude of St. Anthony’s HS closing its doors.

-I hope Stephen Piscotty played the antithesis of the lottery (whatever that is) as getting hit three times in an inning is just crazy.

-The Spurs are tied in the league with the Pelicans and Nets as the only teams with only THREE top 20 draft picks on their roster…amazing.

-Sure, I like the Ewing hire at G-Town, but his supporting staff better be A+ recruiters and actual coaches.

-So, glad Dawn Staley won a championship, and I personally knwo out of experience that she was one of the toughest people to guard on a bball court, as I frequently got the nod.

-She, and she alone is why I respect women’s basketball in any way.

-Although, I admit to not turning on the television when I knew that Miss St. was ahead of them late in the game on a Friday night with nothing going on in my life whatsoever.

-The Pats meeting with A.P. creates an interesting situation, as if he doesn’t go there, it clearly is just about the money and not the titles.

-I will write until April 27th, and then shut it down for my overseas trip and THEN bring the noise with the new format.

-I realized that when you take a month off from drinking that you once again crave sweets.

-I realized that the wine-garlic condiment that the Melting Pot sells can go on anything and is so seriously good that I might start a subscription.

-I realized that El Yucateco hot sauce was as good as I thought it was and still requires for me to have napkins to wipe my forehead.

-TwoCatmark says the cats…are still cats and fine.

-I have been off social media for a month, and kind of like it, and may stay off FB but only get on Twitter to develop my blog once I find my groove.

-I realized that Planet Earth II is a show you need to watch as soon as you are done here.

-I like the Red Sox over the Indians if you care for the World Series.

-I head to San Diego for work on Tuesday, easily my favorite town in landlocked United States.

-I have five entries in three different Masters pools, and sitting on my couch watching Saturday and Sunday Masters might be my favorite overall activity in all of life.

-More on Bryce…here.  http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/18992470/washington-nationals-bryce-harper-back

-For the record, I would like to comment that I was the Fillerbuster WAY before Jay Bilas was the Bilastrator (or however you spell his nickname).

-If I was a dude, and wanted to watch an HBO show with primarily women and still feel manly, I would watch Big Little Lies…great series.

-…and doesn’t hurt having Nicole Kidman having sex every other episode.

-I think I will choose another day to comment on the NFL rule changes.

-I was 226 when I took my month off, am now at 213, and will wake up and work out twice again on Saturday before 1pm.

-I plan on being the success story in Men’s Fitness in one of the 2017 months.

-I will talk about the NBA draft another day.

-I want to swim with more sharks even if they eat me (cool way to die), and this video helps me believe they will just swim with me.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xt8mcy8gZVM

-I still want to know what Darth Raider will do with the Raiders moving.

-I don’t feel bad for the Raiders fans, as they either have an excuse to go to Vegas more or can just convert to 49ers fans.

-I forgot how good of book Inferno was, am scared to watch the movie which will disappoint, am about to kill a newer Grisham book, move to the latest John Corey book by Nelson DeMille, and then plan on reading a book a week that is…real stuff that has happened in life.

-Anyone notice that Devon Booker scored 70 the same night UK beat UCLA?

-Masters:  I am saving my ammo but GO Sergio or Rickie…my two favorite guys at the top after day 2.

-Tourney:  Most of you expected a long winded banter on my favorite thing in sports, but I want to sign off and enjoy my not going to bar Friday night by watching Hacksaw Ridge…my notes.

-No buzzer beaters to write home about in most rounds, but the UF-Wisco game made me fall off the couch.

-The final game might have been the ugliest championship game in any sport I have seen in my lifetime.

-But, the better and more deserving team won.

-Why didn’t more commentators comment on the lack of success of first timers in the Final Four?  THAT is why I had my money on UNC.

-Mark Few will get another shot soon.

-UVA needs about five more offensive threats.

-Did my bracket do well?  No.  Did I pick the winner?  Yes.  The ACC had one team in the second weekend, and the ACC still won.  Note to all of you other punk basketball conferences.

-Because I didn’t go anywhere the entire month (strategic since I knew I would be happy watching bball), I put money on pretty much every single game, even the ones I didn’t fully believe in.  Best and most entertaining $127 I have ever won (for the entire tourney) in my life.

-Focuses for my next two months?  My wife, my job, my family, my friends, my blog, my workouts, my Roland, and getting into volunteering (thinking a pet shelter or teaching people how to swim).

-When I send my stuff into Men’s Fitness in two months, I will post a before-after picture.  I am going to be ripped.

-On a personal note, it is a RUSH to be blogging again.  I am going to knock your socks off in the coming months.

-I will update the website dropdowns before end of April-they are outdated and I know that.

-I am back, but you will notice a difference in my demeanor.  As I said, I got caught in a slippery slope.  This was dribble.  I am smarter than what I was writing, and I sure as hell am a better writer than what I was writing for years.  That will change.  Skills and knowledge will be dropped like you wouldn’t believe.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro (be good this year, Bryce).  Peace.
