Catch Of The Day

Lance to the Rescue.

Quick on today.  I ran out of time in the day.  I will get more in over the weekend.

HOOK:

“Trades.”

Just highlights…no big names went anywhere.

-The Pistons got younger by picking up Tobias Harris and I like the trade.

-Jeff Green isn’t quite an All Star or anything, but he is a decent enough player to not be traded for Lance Stephenson.  Not sure how the Griz think Lance is the piece that gets them over the top.  I was hoping the Rockets would pick up Stephenson.  If he had reached his playing potential on the court, I might overlook his off the court actions.

-Shame they had to let go of loyal Mr. Varejao, but I like the trade for Frye.  They get a big guy who can take advantage of open outside looks created by LeBron James.

-Not sure what the Wizards are thinking by picking up Markief Morris.  If they would have just waited, they might have just let him go for nothing.

-I think the Thunder made a good move in getting Randy Foye.  Seasoned, decent, and good enough to run the team on the 2nd unit.

-If the Wizards trade for Kirk Hinrich next year, and then he ends up somehow with the Bulls, his trade cycle will be perfectly symmetrical.  hinrich Capture

LINE:

“College.”

Missing ANOTHER player from their lineup, Duke pulled it out last night vs. North Carolina.  Roy will say he should have called timeout.  I don’t necessarily buy that fully, as surprise does have its advantages.  But, maybe the kids should be reminded who is hot and not for the entire game so they have an idea that a kid who is 2-12 MIGHT not be the guy who should put it up.

Not sure whether we learned more about Xavier or Providence in last night’s game, but I am pretty sure I am not a full believer in either at this point.

Texas might be a sleeper in the tourney.  Looking pretty good and beat decisively a pretty decent West Virginia team.

SINKER:

“Peyton.”

Didn’t I already mention Lance Stephenson?  Just kidding.  UltraViolet is a women’s group urging sponsors to sever ties with Peyton Manning.  First of all, the claim doesn’t seem that much more than a college momentary lapse of judgement.  Maybe it was a dare.  Who knows?  Bottom line is he was in college and has put in about TWENTY good years of honesty and genuineness in his classy career.  Think UltraViolet has too much free time.

THE RIVER:

-I agree with the league upholding the Wideman penalty.  I have watched it a few more times, and it was too purposeful.

That’s it.  Will I blog tomorrow?  That is a CLOWN question, bro.  Peace.
