LinkedIn…
I am still working on my next “piece” idea, so just thought I would post my LinkedIn post from Friday, as it was sports related, and a great preamble for the Conference Championship games today. The next blog is still marinating in my brain…and I like to suddenly be inspired and just jam it out.
In case you care, these are my leaders in the clubhouse for my next blog:

It Hurts me and Mahomes when I end up in a lonely Burrow from writer’s block. But I think this one turned out Purdy good after all…
All three QB’s in the NFL Conference Championships are under the age of 30. Actually, they are all under the age of 28, with Patrick Mahomes being the elder statesman at 27. Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are teasing the media with trades and retirement. Kirk Cousins can’t make headway on primetime or in the playoffs. Russell Wilson is hoping his off year was just a blip. Matt Ryan is trying to figure out his steep decline, and Matthew Stafford is going to film some more commercials while capitalizing on his Super Bowl fame. At one time relatively recently, Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Brock Purdy, and Jalen Hurts were the unknowns of the NFL. People had to believe in them. A GM had to have the guts to bring them onboard. They were startups, if you will.
In our industry, there are some similarities. There are companies that have done it one single way for a long time. They are big, trusted names in the media and AV industry. They had more than their time in the sun, and now the landscape and client needs are changing. Clients are hoping there is a better, more efficient way. Our clients at LUCI made that leap of faith. They trusted the newcomer. They sensed the disruption. And now, they are buying less hardware, spending less on CMS systems, having a more reliable media delivery system, and having consultants always at their side as opposed to only break/fix assistance. Most importantly, they are improving their guests’ experience by maximizing messaging and environment.
No matter who wins this weekend, someone running those teams sensed a disruption to the league. They saw the better way, and now they are the last teams standing. Here at LUCI, we are the Mahomes, Burrow, Purdy, and Hurts of video, lighting, audio, and LED.
Side notes:
If Brock Purdy wins today, he has already shown his extreme worth and should be the Niners starting QB next year.
If Jalen Hurts wins today, scouts really need to re-examine their methods, as sometimes just being a winner in college should be a clue.
If Mahomes wins today on a hurt leg, there is no debate on the best QB in the NFL.
If Joe Burrow wins today, we might hear some “Daddy” smack with KC like NY Yankees and Red Sox back in the day. And Tom Brady will come back just to make sure we don’t think that Joe is already Tom Brady’s next coming.
Whoever wins, this is the first year, we are guaranteed an evenly matched Super Bowl with two of the best teams in the league playing. Cinderellas are cool, but sometimes we want the blue bloods.
Talk soon, all.
