Thoughts for the day…

1. Greetings and salutations, people.  Thanks for coming aboard (the boat).  Some stuff to say, but tired and don’t feel like rambling today.
2. The Patriots filed for two more trademarks.  Blitz for 6.  No days off.  Great.  Let’s hope these clear a little more quickly than that old 18-0 one.
3. Brandon Phillips was traded from Cincy to Atlanta.  We all knew that the Reds would unload him at some point, and nice that one of the higher salary teams didn’t get him.  Atlanta should be a good fit.  What is a BETTER fit is that the Reds will pay $13 mil of the $14 mil of the 2017 salary.
4. Just when we think we have the Knicks figured out, they knock off the Spurs at MSG today.  And on the sidelines, Dolan had Bernard King AND Latrell Sprewell on each side.  Think DOlan is basically putting up a billboard saying he takes care of and likes past Knicks players?  #charlesoakley
5. I think banning Oakley is a little extreme, whether it is temporary or not.  Just talk to the guy.  He had a bad night.
6. I like how Dolan said SO clearly he is leaving Phil to his job for the whole contract kind of gave him a couple digs while saying the opposite.
7. It is not a BAD pickup, but thinking Mason Plumlee is NOT who Nugs fans had in mind in knowing they have trade bait to get better players.
8. Jokic’s 40 point game is a concrete sign for things to come.  Dude is a stud.  Hence the trade involving his young backup also.
9. I lost a fair share of pool games last night.  That is an oddity.  What is crazy is that I lost EVERY single game with my opponents making a bank shot.  Basically, everyone earned the wins against me.
10. Losing games in doubles doesn’t bother me as much though as my partner frequently is not doing THEIR thing.
11. I think of the new Widespread Panic, I like by far the most Steven’s Cat.  GREAT song.
12. UVA just lost at Virginia Tech.  Not their best game at all.  A bank three pointer, a prayer throw up on a foul that went in, a Perrantes shot that never came down and drew a jump ball possession arrow call, and not one but TWO chances in each OT for Va Tech to win on the last shot.  Too many chances.
13. Court storm?  Ummmm.  Shouldn’t be, but glad it made Tech’s season to win ONE game against the 12th ranked team.
14. Kind of a downer performance right before playing Duke on Wednesday…  I have said that UVA needed to be on the 2 line to do damage in the tourney.  They are looking at a 4 line right now after that loss.
15. Northwestern got a solid road win today at Wisconsin.  The tourney will be great regardless, but it will be SOOOO much more fun getting them into it for the first time.
16. So, are there RULES about what an NBA team can do for mocking pregame?  What is over the line?
17. They lost at UCLA, so not a bad loss at all, but I was impressed that Oregon made that a good game.  That team is growing on me.
18. Can we say that the cheerleader falling while carrying the other cheerleader who fell was a turning point?
19. Bill Walton succeeded in saying we watched UCLA’s worst possession of all time, and used the phrase “dancing like an angel…with wings.”
20. I would pay money to see a H-O-R-S-E game in the Curry or Ball family.
21. I am not losing any sleep if I watch or don’t watch the Grammy’s, but we have it on right now.  The Neil Diamond car karaoke of Sweet Caroline was pretty freaking cool I will say.
22. The double foul at the end of the Indiana-Purdue game was a total cop out on a big call.  Call it one way or the other when it involves the two stars and it is end of game.
23. I think it depresses me that Justin Timberlake is so good at golf in addition to being the man at most other things.  He had some great Pro-Am highlights.
24. I have already heard of him through Rivals, but ESPN had a great article on JT Daniels.  If you haven’t heard about him, you will.  He is not even a senior and breaking national QB records at Mater.  Not committed to a lucky school yet.
25. Hate to hear that Michigan State is doing their best Baylor impression.

27. I think the Uber rating system is wrong.  If I have a horrible ride like I did Thursday, the driver can just score ME low proactively and lower MY ranking.  Then, I am a good guy, so when I don’t report the dude, I am the only person who loses out.
28. Just when you think you have seen it all, Pablo Sandoval shows up early AND in good shape to Red Sox camp.
29. Not sure if Magic Johnson can make any better decisions, but him being involved will at least get big time free agents to CONSIDER the Lakers.
30. Such randomness about the CU heckler getting slapped…weird.
31. So, I am sure that they are TOTALLY different reasons from what he had surgery for, but another day and more cancelled Tiger Woods events.
32. I like that Myles Garrett wants to be home with his family for when his name is called.
33. I feel like I am in a time warp with things being released regarding Joe Mixon.  Crazy that the #2 RB in the land comes with such luggage.  Could be a Lawrence Phillips II?  Let’s just hope that is JUST A JOKE.
34. SEVENTEEN people died in a soccer stampede in Angola??  76 total casualties?  That is tough to even imagine for me.  I guess I need to understand that it is either step on or BE stepped on.
35. Zach Lowe even gave us TWELVE things in his Ten Things NBA article this week.  Bonus.  Great weekly article on high level hoops.
36. Sad to hear the owner of the Tigers and Red Wings died.  Kind of cool to see the tweets on Twitter about him from athletes.
37. My boy, Pancho rocked out Cervantes the other night.  Great performance by Apex Vibe, and kind of cool they opened for the band they idolize.  How many people can say they did THAT?
38. I get the injury worry, but mock drafts now have Harry Giles at the end of the first round.  If I am a team down in that area, I am grabbing him on a reach.  Dude was the projected #1 draft pick just a couple years ago.
39. Interesting, Adele just asked to start her song over in the tribute to George Michael.  A couple of swear words too…
40. I think my new favorite song by a landslide is No Favors with Big Sean and Eminem.
41. Anyone hear it yet?  The fact that he recorded the part talking about Brady’s jersey and then with what happened at the Super Bowl is just odd.
42. Eminem’s rapping is off the charts on that song.
43. Been a while since I have eaten at Rodizio Grill.  That hot sauce they have in a bowl in the buffet is NO joke.  It was a sweating meal.
44. Finally, I might have found a new favorite joke.  A guy walks into a zoo and the only animal they have is a dog.  Sound like a Shitzu.
45. I am tired tonight and am saving cool weekend pics for another day.
