On my couch thoughts for the day…and I am writing this before the final wave of games. I don’t want a laptop distraction in a bit.

-I just almost fell off the couch as I watched Cincy tied the game with an almost rolling out layup down two.

-This will be quick.  I can’t focus on blogging when I am overloaded on great games.

-Take a deep breath.  If your Elite 8 is intact, you are good to go after today.  Mine is.

-Sucker Iowa State, Baylor, Texas people.  Sure, I had Iowa State too, but not far.

-Told you Georgia State would win, even if it might have been one of the biggest breakdowns I have ever seen in sports by Baylor.  Read my last blog.  I am on record that they are my Cinderella.

-Did Baylor not plan for that press at ALL?  Looked like they had never seen it.

-Nice when the shot of the tourney might have happened in the second game of the tourney.

-I am 42 years old, and usually March Madness “warms up.”  Today, it did NOT.

-Notre Dame did everything they could to lose that game against Northeastern in the last five minutes.

-Did Northeastern think they were TIED when they let the clock run down before NOT shooting it?

-Arizona and Nova have looked the best today.

-STILL don’t believe in Villanova.

-Don’t be mad at the UCLA-SMU refs.  They called it by the rules.  The rules need to change.  Remember, they are calling that in real time.

-Still, UCLA advancing is embarrassing…and to possibly beat UAB is more embarrassing.

-UAB.  They rant the INVERTED picket fence.  They ran a picket fence, but let THEIR guy run in BETWEEN them when they hadn’t made a three all HALF down by TWO points.  Amazing guts.  Amazing play.

-I don’t know if Fred is The Mayor for a few days.

-VCU would have won if they had their real PG.

-Is it me, or does every year entail “where is the second scoring option for Ohio State?”

-The late TO’s by VCU REALLY surprised me.  Not their style.

-The two three point shots by OSU’s Bates-Diop were DOPE.  17 three’s all YEAR before that and none this game.  GUTSY, and dope.

-I went to the bar for about 30 minutes before I realized that sitting next to all dayers with their brackets yelling “white guy shooting a three” was irritating.  On my couch now, where I control everything.

-For the seventeenth consecutive year, I think I picked Purdue to win and they lost.

-I am sure there are other sports stories going on that I could comment on, but I can’t.

-You can’t catch Butler or most mid majors when you are behind because they can shoot free throws.

-Do me a favor, KU, just win one game and then lose.  I will love you.  I need the one game if that is OK, Mr. Self.

-This big guy for Utah is SO much bigger than everyone else from SF Austin.

-What was once a mini region I was scared of ALL the teams now has cleared up for the Zags.  Of course, they will have their hands full with a very irritating North Dakota State squad tomorrow.

OK.  That is it.  I could write ALL night, and SF Austin just cut it to one possession and I think I am scaring my fiancee with all of these fantastic games.  Talk to you tomorrow.  Have faith in your bracket.  Peace.

FORGOT TO COMMENT ON UNC-HARVARD ON EDIT.  WOW.

UNC has the athletes to hang with anyone, but they are SO frustrating to watch.  They can’t shoot.  They run it.  They are basically an organized outside pick up game with amazing athletes.  That three by Paige tonight saved an upset as far as momentum.  Vince, I feel for you.
