Picks. Greatest day of the year.
Except for the first day of March Madness, the Super Bowl, The Masters, the British Open, any UVA bball game, the Stanley Cup Finals, the MLB playoffs, the Kentucky Derby, etc.
Kind of subdued for me for HOW UVA exited, but it is the Final Four regardless. My breakdown and enjoy the games.
HOOK:

We didn’t want this. I know. It usually doesn’t go like the book OR storybook, but we have four teams left regardless. And one will win it all.
NOVA: Experienced, decent guard play that gets trumped by good guard lineups oddly. Coach has been there. Weak depth on the interior, but they get by. I have not been a believer all season and have been wrong all season. Every time we expect them in the Final Four, they lose in the second round. Every time we DON’T expect them there, they make it (2009). Damn you, Jay Wright/ George Clooney.
OU: If you have watched the tourney for years like I have, you know there are years when a team comes together, when guards take over, when luck intervenes, and when a player TAKES OVER. I have said it before and will say it again. I did not believe in Buddy Hield at the beginning of the season. After watching him ALL SEASON, I just feel like this is his tourney to lose. Plus, he just lost AP player of the year. Ridiculous. He is pissed. Me too. Boomer Sooner. Main four guys have played 100 plus games together.
UNC: Team #1 with allegations and an old coach. They can’t shoot, but have athletes that can jump out of the gym. I really, really want to pick against them. I feel like the Cuse Zone is dangerous for them. But, I think that they are too big, too athletic, and Marcus Paige will hit some shots. Sometimes you have to look at preseason rankings, and just cement the pick by saying “they are good on paper too.”
CUSE: Team #2 with baggage. What a dream ride. What a comeback against UVA. What a zone. What a coach. Possibly only VCU and George Mason and maybe Florida WAY back in the day are worse Final Four teams than this squad. No depth. They play the perfect opponent for their zone. I want to be sold, but am not totally.
