Ralph!
Thoughts for the day. Once again, saving blog template long version until the subscribers are back after Thanksgiving. Let’s move.
- Just my two cents. When your defense is holding one of the most explosive offenses to 17 points late in the fourth, you have a chance to tie it up with an extra point, and you are at home, I am kicking the extra point. On the road? Maybe go for two. Dantonio made a really, really bad call.
- Yes, I get it. I get why you can rationalize it the other way. I am still not buying what he is selling. With 2 minutes left? Maybe. 4:40 left? No.
- Shame I only had MSU and 20 points in a losing parlay-should have trusted my gut and just took that game solo.
- Indiana is giving Michigan all they can handle. Not saying that would happen because it probably won’t, but can you imagine that game going topsy turvy AFTER MSU beating OSU? Wow.
- Baylor lost badly. Texas Tech is losing badly. I think those two should just play each other for the rest of the year to determine who is more confusing in stopping ANYONE.
- I had a Bad Daddy’s burger today. Not in my Colorado rankings. And, I suggest you NOT toy with the Bad Ass burger…thing is monstrous. But DO get the fries with the delicious chipotle dipping sauce.
- Yes, I just like the word chipotle. A lot.
- Did Texas give Charlie Strong like even a YEAR without having him on a constant hot seat. Colleges, do your research, pick your person, and give him at least three years to get his kind of kids in there. Everyone relax.
- I think Herman might have made himself an extra $1 million yearly simply with that resounding win against Louisville.
- Intern Doug is still MIA. I still am internless. I still don’t have time to edit this. Sorry. Deal with it.
- The story about a man dissolving in a Yosemite Park hot spring is…just…disturbing. I am thinking that was not a painless death.
- I colored my mustache today. It is slightly darker. It looks horrible now, before, and until the end of November. But, it IS entertaining.
- I didn’t watch Rounders by myself last night before going to bed. I made one of Lindsey’s friends watch it with me.
- Saturday never feels like a picture blog day. I will include some tomorrow.
- I forgot Joe Rogan is not only a respected boxing announcer but also a funny comedian. Geez. Not a bad life that guy lives.
- I have never looked for the term, but IF I did, I would actually guess that an “unapologetic elbow” would indeed be associated with Dwight Howard since Mutombo is retired.
- So, when I took my weekly big spread game and Austin Peay and 43 points today, my only regret was that I didn’t take the monstrous money line.
- I am sorry. Just not buying into the whole 55 year old college football player. I feel nothing on it. Sorry again.
- Tonight, OU plays WVA, and I am on week 5 or 6 of being the only positive person in Lindsey’s household since that Ohio State demolition.
- Poker last night. Content of poker can stay secret, but I can give you a summary. They don’t read this thing. It is like the whole tree in a forest thing and whether it makes a sound. I came in 5th of 10 people. I played reasonably well, and went out somehow thinking a suited Q-7 would win it. I obviously was not totally rational at the time. Anyway, the irony is that the guy I wanted to win if it wasn’t me and who was my ride over there was the villain on my two big earlier losses. Set and full house took me out on two pair both times. I am mad how I went out, but not mad at the players who finished ahead of me. I had me ranked #3 or #4 at the table, so 5th is not bad.
- Breakdown of the players:
- Rob. I call him Ralph. Only a few people understand why. Anyway, pretty much almost a professional level poker player. What is worse than playing an almost professional level poker player? Playing an almost professional level poker player getting CARDS. Dude was on fire, and his chip stack dwarfed everyone’s pretty early.
- We will tag him Matt Damon.
- Ross. The host. I will say this. Love the guy. If I had to judge how he views people, I would say he probably doesn’t truly like anyone. I think hanging with the guy is just a measure of who he dislikes the least. Great poker player-came in 2nd. Mention him and poker in same sentence and it calls for fantastic photos. Never gets old.
- We will tag him KGB without a cool accent.
- Omar. Scrapper. Played with him twice. Smart player who is consistently barely above sea level. But, then you look over late in the game and he is still there…scrapping away. He is like Rocky. A piece of iron. Third.
- Travis. I didn’t realize how much of the table jokester he is. Good player too. We will tag him Steve Martin.
- Me. Kind of like Maverick from Top Gun. I will never be the best on the scorecard or in stats, but I play decent and catch a couple of cards, I can win any given night. Maverick comparison is because when I win, it is like the finale after he quits Top Gun but beats the shit out of the enemy in real war.
- And a guy who knows he can be a little irritating. Quite aware. Comes with the package.
- Eric. First time playing with him. Good player. Lives and breathes Raiders like I live and breath Steelers. We will tag him. Darth Raider.
- Theisen. One of my favorite guys in the world and the guy to my left last night. Learning the game and just hanging out having fun. Love that guy. We will tag him quiet fun guy.
- That is actually what pops up if you Google “quiet fun guy.” Seriously.
- Vince. Casey. Great guys who play the game right, and happy to just hang out too. Sad that Casey totally spaced on his sunglasses thing last night. It would have been really funny. We will tag them Cheech and Chong.
- Scott. First night hanging with him. Player that I assume could win any night when Ralph is not getting all of the cards. We will tag him…new friend…so I won’t tag him anything yet. Need another night of poker with him.
