I have decided to save my “good” stuff until tomorrow…just a quick one to hold you over. I actually mean hold ME over as I hate not blogging, but will blame it on you today. In and out and then catching Golden Tee and the end of happy hour.
HOOK:

Listen. We don’t have to worry about them ever comparing themselves to the Dream Team, but the USA men’s basketball team still haven’t lost yet. They barely beat an Australian team without Exum and Simmons, and today they won a close game against Spain without an NBA All Star in Marc Gasol. You can nitpick every which way but loose. And, I had to work, so just caught parts of the game. But here is the deal. When I DID watch, they actually passed the ball a couple times for easy baskets. And, I noticed a little defense, keeping consistent what they had done the last two games against opponents. A great shooting Spanish team shot 39%. Spain had a shot to get this one. 82 points total for the USA, lowest in Olympic play since the loss against Argentina. They still get either Serbia or Australia, and either team will capitalize on any major imperfections. But, they advance. Not pretty, and definitely not overwhelming. But, let’s keep in mind our guys get together once every couple years to compete against teams with great chemistry and who play MUCH more together. Will they win? Probably. Are they better? Yes. Should they brag after? Not too much, guys. Just get the gold and get OUT.
Funny thing my colleague said today (Patak). When we were discussing Marc Gasol not being on the floor with the other Gasol for Spain, Patak, who does not excel at basketball but DOES excel in pop culture knowledge, said this. “Well, it must be like Highlander. There can only be one.”
LINE:
“Slacker.”
We knew Kris Bryant would be a superstar years ago. Baseball enthusiasts MORE than years ago probably already knew too (Hoban). He went 5-5 with 2 HR’s last night. It might be a blip if he wasn’t doing well…for his entire career already. Dude is a stud. The Cubs are on pace for 104 wins right now, and he is a large part of that and the money guy when they need offense. I have said from day one that I believe the Nationals will still win out East. But, the Cubs ARE that good right now and now have a closer. Oh, why is the title of this a slacker? Because Kris hit THREE home runs last time when he went 5-5. Slacker.
SINKER:
“Kickers.”
The NFL tells us everyday about its zero tolerance policy on any bad off the field activities. Then, we find out about Josh Brown. Not a huge offensive lineman. Not a cocky WR. No, a kicker. Allegedly, he abused his ex-wife 20 times, and these were reported to police…in THREE different towns. This is bad for Brown. This might be worse for the NFL. Goodell. Tackle THIS one.

I could expand, but Golden Tee calls. So, I leave you with just two funny pics I saw today. And his Instagram apology sucked. It was like a dude apologizing to his woman in an argument saying “I apologize that we miscommunicated.” Will I blog tomorrow? That is a CLOWN question, bro. Peace.
