Widespread Panic, the NBA Finals, and THIS?
Read it, don’t read it, I don’t care…just needed to get some things off my chest.
In no particular order of chronology or importance…
On the clock. Crazy busy day and I need to get away from this laptop for a bit. Day rant. Let’s turn and burn.

1) The Lakers used their amnesty on Ron Artest. This is an expected move. No surprises on this, and they quietly got Nick Young the same day. Nick Young will never be a star, but is a solid add on. And look, the Lakers, minus Snowball and Artest, are pretty close to “normal.”
2) Yasiel Puig is more in the news for NOT making the All Star Game. In just a couple days, he is being pursued by Jay-Z for his services, has brushed off any “arrogant” references, and is the most famous miss yet for the actual game. He shouldn’t have made it. 140 plus AB’s doesn’t cut it in my book.
3) Just in case you thought we would be overloaded with Jeter comeback stats, he gets injured already…in the same game. Now, we can be overloaded with daily quad strain updates. Sweet.
4) Ilya Kovalchuk retired with 12 years and $77 million out there. Russia, where he will now play, must be insanely AWESOME. Maybe those allegedly hot chicks that country ships out and that is magazines are just the leftovers.
5) 42 is out for rental. For those of you who haven’t seen it, it is a very happy movie. By that I mean, the rough road that Jackie Robinson got through is barely even touched on. He had to get two outs in ONE game. Come on. Enjoyable? Yes. Realistic. Hardly. It makes you FEEL good though.
6) Wrigley gets the OK for a Jumbotron. Those people REALLY don’t want to replace that stadium, do they? Just upgrading the old one, aye? At least I know I have another few years to make the road trip. Wait for me, guys.
7) Rookie Geno Smith decided not to attend Sanchez’s “Jet’s West” offensive camp. I think this is rude even if it is run by Sanchez. Pal up with him so he doesn’t see your attempt at being the starter coming, Geno.
8) GREAT move. This team is locking and loading. Andrei Kirilenko was signed by the Nets. Dude is only 32, averaged 12 points a game last year, is a guy you never have to run plays for, and can do a little of everything on the floor. They probably cheated and are paying him mad money off the table, but he fits in well as a bench player. Plus, we get to mention how he is married to some chick who allows him to cheat on her with anyone in the world exactly one day a year. Odd.
9) Rays Matt Moore wins his 13th and replaces Darvish in the ASG. If it wasn’t for Max Scherzer and his mad start, this might be a bigger story. Poor guy.
10) I love how Kobe Bryant unfollowing Snowball on Twitter is such a big story. Hilarious.
11) Thanks to Fox Sports for finally being useful and showing previously normal and hot and now crazy loon Anna Benson photos on the main page very largely. Fox is SOMETIMES good for SOMETHING.
12) Joe Flacco’s brother retired from baseball to play D II football. If he has as big of arm as Joe Flacco’s head, he might actually succeed.
13) Nah. That would be impossible.
14) I watched Drunk History last night. Great show. History experts getting loaded and talking about historic events in between passing out, throwing up, and doing shots. It actually has stars doing the theatrics. Jack Black was in the Elvis one last night. Kind of worth the watch sober, and I would hypothesize it would HILARIOUS after a few drinks. I plan on testing that soon.
15) I actually remembered one of my dreams finally last night. Rarely happens. Three events happened all at the same time. Pandemonium. A Panic concert, the Presidential debate (odd choice subconsciously, but I WAS a government major and I WAS in the third row), and Game 7 of the NBA Finals. Stupid dream. The Heat and Bulls can’t play each other in the Finals.
16) Panic won by the way, but my dream allowed for viewing without hippie disturbance in the drink lines.
17) Monta Ellis signed with the Mavs today. The Mavs finally got SOMETHING after swinging about 20 times. Good pickup by them. I question what he is trying to do. He could have gone to a quicker winner most likely. BUT, playing for Mark Cuban must be nice.
18) Every time I get stressed or overloaded about my job, I think of the most trivial thing that I love about it. How many other places can I talk to top tier customers on the phone in sandals, shorts, a Panic shirt, and a backwards Steelers hat. Thank you, David. I will work whatever amount of hours you want me to being allowed to wear that attire. Easy to roll in at 6 when I can just grab the top thing in my drawer. Not a dress up guy unless clients are involved. That is why I chose INSIDE sales.
19) Brad Stevens says that Rajon Rondo is insightful and intelligent. How ELSE is a new promoted college coach going to talk about the most talented, difficult player on his team?
20) That is it. Gotta go. Will I blog tomorrow? That is a CLOWN question, bro. Peace.
ONE more. Come ON.
